It's important to eat GRASS FED meat, otherwise the (grocery store) meat is

from a factory farm / feedlot, where the animal is fed grain (and donuts)

and confined, that's GMO grain.

You can find a local farmer, which is how I buy my meat once a year when

she butchers, or you can order online from U.S. Wellness, or some stores

carry grass fed meat. Organic meat is not necessarily grass fed.

You are headed in the right direction! :)

HA!!!! Someone who raised lambs like I used to!!!!

I was very fortunate to have been able to raise organic lamb, and the taste is

so much better. No gamey taste. My mother swore she was eating veal -- it was

that tender and mild.

I would sell my lambs to families in which the children were allergic to the

world... And I also raised border collies I imported in from Australia back in

1989.

I really miss extremely good lamb. They were all hand-tamed and friendly. I

corn-fed them the last two months. Some think I was cruel in playing with them

-- but if I was going to butcher them, I wanted to make sure they really had a

chance to enjoy life and enjoy it well.

We had great pastureland which included this very unusual red daisy-like flower.

My friends who were Native to the region, they told me that a pasture with this

kind of wild flower kept the livestock healthy. And it did work. My sheep ate

every single last one they could find.

I never separated the lambs from their mothers until the ewes stopped nursing

them and eventually pushed them away... which was about 9 months.

Yeah, I did do things differently, but as you know, Meghan, it does make a huge

difference.

You don't need to give livestock antibiotics. I kept telling my Uncle that it

was a waste of time and money to do so. All the effort put into injecting the

damn antibiotics did not justify the 300 pounds added onto the cattle frame.

How do you get the omega 3 fatty acid and the collagen-forming material I

read about in Deep Nutrition?

Anyway Deep Nutrition has already in only two chapters made me jealous of

my raw foodist dog's organic meat (a la pet-grub.com) from Trader Joe's

market.

Yes! That's it.

And they have wonderful marrow bones to make your beef stock with, tallow

for making homemade french fries, meat is exc...

Jeff, where are you? I'll put you in touch with a chapter leader in your

area so you can get local resources.

The WP list I'm on the most is for area chapter leaders but all large

cities have their own list, I'm also on the GA-WP list which is for the

entire state, but most of the members are in Atlanta.

For the time being: My RV is highly mobile. Thursday I was living on a

ranch at 3000 feet. The next day and since, I've been living in a city RV

park at 400 feet. No, I hasn't lived in Hesperia yet, but it could happen.

I don't know if Victorville, Hesperia, Apple Valley have RV parks, but then

there are probably places in the desert where  you could go without paying a

fee.   When we come out to visit we have a timeshare over off Rt. 66.
