Melody,

Fermented anything does kind of sound disgusting, but tempeh is delicious! I am

allergic to soy, so can't have it anymore!

But most people don't mind " fermented milk " , which we call cheese, and blue

cheese is made by fermenting and culturing with a mold, just like tempeh. So,

maybe we can say that tempeh is an " aged " soy product similar to cheese being an

aged milk product, leaving out the word fermented entirely? Sounds good to me!

Maybe people would be more willing to try it, or not think you are weird for

eating it!

OOOHH I have something to tell all of you. The person who wouldn't look twice

at my Tempeh, emailed me earlier telling me she was watching my sprout videos on

youtube and the salad looked delicious, COULD I MAKE HER A SPROUT SALAD TONIGHT.

I replied 'You are getting a sprout salad and a surprise " " I'll see you later "

I then created a very nice sprout salad, I made teriyaki tempeh, I threw the

teriyaki tempeh on top of the salad and brought the whole thing around the

corner to her mother (my friend is at work).

I uncovered the whole thing and the mother's eyes got big and round and she said

" My that looks good " I said 'Smell it, it smells good too "

She said " Oh yeah, it smells great, WHAT IS IT? "

I said " I'm not telling you. Or her. Tonight, when I come over, you will have

finished this and then you can tell me if you liked it and then I'LL TELL YOU

WHAT IT IS!!!

She got hysterical.

Hey, I'm TRYING!!!!

I never thought to make a video. I walked around the corner. Everybody was on

the porch. I said " Well, how was the salad? " And my friend said " Oh my god, it

was wonderful, AND THE CHICKEN WAS GOOD TOO "

I said " What chicken?? " She said " Didn't you tell my mom those square things

were chicken?? " I said " no, I told your mother I would tell you what you ate

AFTER you ate it " .

She said " What did I eat? " I said 'TEMPEH "

She said " What's that again? " I said 'Fermented whole soybeans "

She said " Oh my god, I ate that " . I then said

Now SHUT UP AND YOU LIKED IT.

She admitted she did and we all burst out laughing.

And I gave a little ziplock bag of fresh sprouts to my neighbor across the

street.

So I sprouted TWO people today!!
