Guest guest
Hi all, I M from India where not much help available for autism.Let me start from the bigining. My son (now 12) was provisionaly been dx autistic when he was 3 1/2 and was having almost all the symptoms of Autism.Recently i had been to an autism clinic where he was dxd to have the following problems only. 1.PRAGMATIC DEFICIT 2.SYMENTIC : ( Language development 3 yrs behind his age ) 3.Learning Disacility 4.Writting skill 6 yrs behind his age. I am confused..where to put him ? LFA , HFA or Asperger ???,clue less. Apart from that,as we see he has lack of socialization,Inapproperiate behaviour,In his own world when he is alone (which he loves to be ) and some times while with others also.He has lack of concentration, attention, focus etc. Now, the clinic authority says that therapies ( speach and other)wtll be given to him and he will come out of all those abnormalities mentioned. Plaseeeeeeeeeeeee suggest me. Eagerly waiting for your suggestions.
Guest guest
Hello...welcome to the group. I'm so glad you are getting him help. From my understanding in some cases, it's OK to never have a label, as far as LF, HF, or others...low and high are really not scientific terms so they are hard to figure out too. LOL....the main thing is that you are getting treatment...that's what matters most. Also, are you aware of RDI...here is a link: http://www.rdiconnect.com/ -- you can do this on your own with him; it's truly wonderful, wonderful. You can also do lots of sensory things with him if you feel he's a little out of sync that way...I'd be happy to tell you more about 's sensory "diet" that we implement hear in our home. Blessings to you as you learn....post often, as there is good help here. e To: AutismBehaviorProblems Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 5:04:12 AMSubject: Your valued suggestiond plz !!!!
