Guest guest
Okay I am going to take up some time with some bragging rights. Danny is an avid Boy Scout - tries to live the oath everyday - it is a struggle but he certainly tries. He loves Scouts not sure if it is because I was his den leader for so long and now his Dad is the Scoutmaster but that's beside the point. All of you - he did it, he stood up in front of a whole group of people and read about the flag - we were having a Court of Honor Ceremony. He read with inflection and not monotone. He did not add anything or forget to read anything. I was so proud. He stood and recited the oath with the other Scouts, followed the whole procession of the flag ceremony and was just like any other boy there - a little fidgety but nothing more than the rest of the boys. He is getting there, I wrote this to give you all hope, we have intervened in his life since he was 15 months of age and it is starting to pay off. We have a long way to go but I wanted to share this very happy story for my family. Sharon

Guest guest
Oh, Pat yes...you hit the nail on the head. I hurt watching struggle to use his self control...any two yr old, but he works so much harder than any 2 yr old I've ever known...there are times when I want to SCREAM ---- "He is 2!!!" -- I don't as I know that if we don't get a grip on some of this stuff now, it won't get better.... e To: AutismBehaviorProblems Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 8:45:00 AMSubject: Re: You Would've Been So Proud of My Son Sharon, that is so great. Good for Danny. These precious kids exercise more self control than anyone will ever know; they try so hard to be normal. Thanks for the encouragement. I keep praying. blessings, Pat K You Would've Been So Proud of My Son Okay I am going to take up some time with some bragging rights. I just love this group where we can share these thngs that others who do not live with Autism would not understand at all how big they are. And these things are HUGE! Way to go. Stacie Go Danny!!!! That's fantastic! I love hearing stories of our children's triumps. Course, now I'm sitting here at work w/tears in my eyes, which will make my mascara run & I'll be looking like Alice - but it's worth it! Mom/Dad - you guys must be so proud!
