Guest guest
I already had the shelf in my kitchen. It's an old book case to be exact. I needed a place to put ALL the things I am sprouting, in one easy to reach place. And now that I am doing sunnies, well it's even more important that I utilize what space I have. And I can take out shelves as needed to make space for the cooler for when it gets hot in my kitchen. Sorry for the length of the video but I wanted you to see how I started my next batch of sunnies. I soak up all the information I learn on this forum and applied it. If you think I should change anything, let me know. Guest guest
Fantastic, Melody. Next, I will convince you to grow some tom thumb lettuce and micro tomatoes-each tomato is the size of a pea! I also have mini squash growing upside down from the bottom of a rack hanging in my kitchen. We will turn you into Farmer Jane yet....and I BET you will make a video! > > I already had the shelf in my kitchen. It's an old book case to be exact. Guest guest
Oops, sorry-don't think that link worked. Here it is again http://www.ebay.com/itm/Handy-Hand-held-Air-Condition-Cool-Cooler-Fan-USB-Black-\ /370534089887 > > > Melody, here is a link to a spiffy little portable air conditioner-you moisten a sponge and the air runs over the sponge, cooling the air QUITE dramatically. It runs on batteries (rechargeables are fine it) or you can run it from the USB port of your computer-very nice for keeping plants/sprouts cool. I know NOTHING about this vendor-this is just a listing that shows what I am talking about, there are many different sellers/prices, but this is like the one I have. > Handy Hand-held Air Condition Cool Cooler Fan USB Black > > > > --- In sproutpeople@ >
Guest guest
, saw the fan on the link you provided. Now exactly how would I use this to cool my sunnies? Need specifics. I used to have a portable fan that I would attach to the shelf and it would cool whatever was on that shelf. I can still do this. I'll put the trays in the styrofoam cooler and the sunnies, well, they'll be on their own shelf and the fan would blow. But the fan you showed me looks interesting. Guest guest
. The clip on fan that I presently have (I attach it to the shelf with the clip) Does your fan attach this way? Guest guest
Tom Thumb lettuce is lovely! Tiny little heads like iceburg, but more buttery and soft-each head is smaller than the palm of your hand, and they grow beautifully in containers!! Good fun! > > Tom Thumb lettuce?? > > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > >  > > > ________________________________ > > To: sproutpeople > Sent: Thursday, March 8, 2012 2:02 PM > Subject: Re: Re: I created a Sprout Station > > > >  > > Mel, > You remember that I tried to get you to grow those tiny tomatoes in your pots on the front porch? > ew > > Re: I created a Sprout Station > > Fantastic, Melody. Guest guest
Works sort of like a swamp cooler, running air over something that holds water.  Carolyn Wilkerson  ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Thursday, March 8, 2012 11:15 AM Subject: Re: I created a Sprout Station  Melody, here is a link to a spiffy little portable air conditioner-you moisten a sponge and the air runs over the sponge, cooling the air QUITE dramatically.
