Hi Sabine

I think that lapbander in the article has to be a New Zealander, as that is

what the surgery costs here in NZ. $15,000. There is one Dr here doing

surgery for a lapband and he charges $25,000 but you have a lifetime

guarantee if something needs to be replaced etc.

Good luck in getting your surgery soon Sabine, I don't regret making the

decision to have a lapband at all.

Have a great Day!!

Like to say hello to all the bandsters + non bandster

I read all your email's, and I can tell you are all going well.

As I am still waiting for my op, and really don't have much to say.

I even wait till February till my private insurance is due and get done .

It will cost me at least $2000 in the public hospital, so I might start ringing around to find out how much I have to pay with the private one....I will let you know what I find out. Does anyone has an idea?

And I found this http://womansday.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=146298.

Might have a look guys.....????

Have a great day.And look after yourself.

Hi Sabine

$15,000 seems to be around the average price in Australia without

private health insurance. I have seen some doctor's quotes for

$18,000. For example my niece is currently waiting for her 12 months

waiting for private health insurance to expire, if she had it done now

it would cost her $13,500. Once the health cover kicks in it will be

just over $2,000 for her to pay out of pocket.
