Guest guest
, Why does your Dr think has Bipolar ? Does she have mood swings,,nightmares,,act inappropriate ? My daughter was first thought to have ADHD,,and put on Ritalin,,,but she started having hallucinations,,,and started getting more and more out of control,,,so we had her evaluated,,,and she has Bipolar. She has definite mood swings, times when she is " manic " and she will be up all night,,and talking real fast,,,then there are her down times,,,when I can't even get her out of bed to go to school. If you think your daughter has Bipolar,,,I would make sure you get her evaluated by a trained psychiatrist. I wouldn't wait till there is a problem at school,to get her evaluated,,because, then she will have more problems getting caught up. Guest guest
She is only in Kindergarden and accidemically she has fallen alittle behind or more like she hasn't progressed like the other children. The teacher says that she tries so hard and that she is a model student.......always polite, always happy, always well behaved. The peditrician only saw her for 40minutes and she was literally bouncing off the walls and talking a mile a minute and since she has a speach problem none of what she was saying was understandable. I made the comment to the doctor after he said that she was either bipolar or ADHD that she may just be immitating her brothers and he replied that children don't immitate Bipolar or ADHD. Either they have it or they don't and he thinks she has a disorder. I want to give it another year and see if she matures.......just to make sure this isn't a phase or something small. Maybe I am burring my head in the sand but I hate to get her labeled when she may just be slow at maturing. All her other milestones were late too. She had NO teeth until her 2nd birthday! THe doctors were doing x-rays on her to see if there were actual teeth in there......lol. Thanks for listening to me Kim heather Re: ? , Why does your Dr think has Bipolar ? I find it so hard to believe that if one desired to be healthy, for instance, one would go out and actually get sick intentionally. Remember the 'tests' for the 'neuro-typical'? I believe it came out of the mind of someone with far to much time on their hands. Rainbow

Got my Grab and Go Bag. Got lights, water, (10 mason jars) in the kitchen, got everything the Red Cross said to put in a Grab and Go bag. Going to put my couch against the living room windows to hold down the verticals so when the Hurricane hits on Sunday, my windows don't blow into the living room. And I just checked my Lanterns and other stuff. So when the Hurricane hits, Alan says we will sit in the bathtub. Guest guest
I grew up in south Florida on the southeast edge of Lake Okeechobee. No one ever used the bath tub for protection during one of the many hurricanes that came our way because it was filled with water to drink. No one trusted the tap water during a hurricane. And even for a few days after. Especially if electrical power is lost. Womack > HI EW. > > Got my Grab and Go Bag. Guest guest
Melody, Not to be flip, but like Gloria Gaynor, *you* will survive!! You're in our thoughts and we'll be waiting to hear all about the hurricane adventure afterwards. T. ---- Melody wrote: > Oh, I never thought about bringing my sprouts into the bathroom with us. I'll do that. Also said that the tub should be filled with water to drink because tap water is NOT safe after a hurricane. That is definitely something I'm telling Alan. We have a bathtub safety chair which I can put OUT of the tub and one of us will sit on that, and the other will put down the toilet lid and sit on that. Bring in a radio and we'll sit out the hurricane. I just put heavy items against my verticals in all my rooms so if the wind blows inward, the glass will fall right where it falls and NOT INTO THE ROOMS. At least that's a plan. > > Nothing is set in stone with this Irene thing. Guest guest
Excellent advice, Pam. Having been through a hurricane (Hugo in '89) and a tornado, we lost electricity for a long while with the former and were unscathed with the latter, although houses not far away were virtually flattened. If I'd known the tornado wouldn't touch us, I would have been at the window watching it, but instead was in a hallway for protection (this was decades ago). I love watching a good storm come and go, but obviously safety is a primary concern. And yeah, hours and hours in the bathroom can be tedious (unless you have an excellent book or two!). Guest guest
Hi. Nothing is on my porch except my Basil plants (good thing you mentioned the porch). I'll put the inside my front yard (which is all fenced in). We NEVER have to even think about these things. OH My Goodness. NJ is on high alert. will update.
