Guest guest
Hi Mazz - I'm fairly bright and chirpy this morning after the most wonderful sleep, no dribbles, no spits and no coughs. I enjoyed a nice dinner without hassle and I almost feel like a new person. Originally I was going to get 0.2ml out which would relieve the problem I think and had planned to be back there on the 20th to have another 0.5ml out before the doc goes on holiday and to tide me thru my holiday beginning mid Aug, but decided to get 0.7ml out there and then and will go back to him end of Aug after my hols and have 0.5ml put back in. So I currently have minimal restriction, can probably eat anything again (glad you can't see the smile on my face at this thought) and the hunger bug has not yet hit me, but I'm expecting it to rear it's ugly head at some point. I'm going to need some self control and more exercise over the next 2 months to try and maintain my weight and will get on the weight loss band wagon again ('cuse the pun) after my trip. The thing is whilst I have been trying to manage the night lurgies, eating small quantities and not holding onto all meals, I still have lost no weight over the past fortnight so my suffering didn't do me one ounce of good whatever what you look at it. Now as for the Turkish Safari - this is the second one I have done - did the Italian one in Haberfield last December. The company Sydney Gourmet Safaris is owned by Maeve O'Mara who was there in person on Sat (a nice woman and looks better in the flesh). Basically these 5 hr trips (about $85) take you behind the scenes of the ethnic group and explain a little about the food culture. There is a big banquet lunch, usually with alcohol, but not in this instance and you taste test your way around the neighbourhood visiting foodie outlets. We finished up at the Gallipoli mosque for a tour and info on the faith. I really enjoy the day out and I go armed with an esky to carry home my shopping of goodies. Will sign up for the Vietnamese one in Cabramatta next time. Anyway I have 25kg of chocolate waiting for me downstairs to divvy up so better get cracking!!!
