Yesterday my GP advised me that the my X-rays didnt pick up any

skeletal reason for the pain in my left shoulder - Duhh I coulda told

her that-so she's referred me back to my Surgeon. And after speaking to

him this afternoon & it seems Your's truely is One of a Kind

Ladies!......Boo hoo hooo !

He said in all the cases hes had..theres only been ONE patient whos had

prolonged shoulder pain & that lasted till the 3rd month...after that

she was OK...but no so for this little duck....day after tomorrow makes

it 13 weeks Post Op & I'm still struggling Ughhhhh...the worstest-WORST

part of it is he suggested we empty out the band on Monday 25th (which

was supposed to be my third fill !! )...hes also thinking maybe I have

Adhesions (Scar tissue attached to the band or something )...but I'll

tell you what... I nearly jumped a mile when he said I might have to go

back in for him to insert the camera for a Look-around...Theres NO WAY

I'm going through all that again...No chance...I'd rather have it all

taken out & be done with it once N for all rather than go backwards N

forwards with all that pain & Discomfort for the sake of Scientific

discovery. I normally have a high pain threshold but this Op ? it was a

Doozey for me & I just havent bounced back nearly as fast as I would

have preferred.....

What are your thoughts on this ladies?..By the way....I had a

GRRRRRREAT time on Sunday...thank you everyone, It was sensational

meeting you all.

Sue.

Hi Sue

I still have shoulder tip pain, when I eat anything I get the pain and I just naturally raise my left arm. I find that putting my arm over my head or around my neck it eases it. The pain will continue until the food passes. It isn't skeletal, its apparently referred pain from the diaphragm that causes it. It might never go away.

Sometimes we don't bounce back from ops for no particular reason. I had my band out in November last year and it was ages for me to get back on track and feel normal. I was tired, grumpy and had hair loss, not to mention pain in the abdomen where the thing was removed from. I was too lucky to still be alive to complain too much, but I really did take a good few months to feel right physically and emotionally. Look at upping your iron and vitamin intake to help your body repair, zinc is good for healing.

I am glad you enjoyed Sunday, it was a pleasure meeting you.

My next op, I was taking iron supps and I am sure that is what helped me to recover faster. I was taking some iron and multi tablets that I had not be able to use when I was banded. They certainly helped me I believe. It's worth a shot… You have a bit before your op, so it might be worth while doing it leading up to your op - can't hurt can it?

I think I was a bit different in that I was really run down before my removal op, that wasn't in my favour. You will be fine sweetie.
