Guest guest
Hey Mel Show her the video where you sprouted a whole pound when you first started 'cause you were such a newbie. ew Re: good morning - mung beans HI there. I'm the Melody of Bean Sprout Sproutville, lol I do Bean Sprouts all the time. Sometimes I use mason jars, sometimes I use my sproutgarden. Here's a video I made recently. And to get them sweet you have to do one thing. KEEP THEM IN THE DARK WHILE THEY ARE SPROUTING. Prevents bitterness. Here you go. Guest guest
You remember that one? I can't find it in my list of videos. I'm sure I deleted it (I did that initially) but I don't delete them anymore. But I did find a video of how they looked the first time I did them in my Sprout Garden. That was the first time I used weights with the Sprout Garden. Guest guest
Hi, Welcome back. Don't let your beans dry out. Grow them in complete darkness. I find that they get a little bitter if they get too much greening. If they do seem bitter to you, toss them in an omelet or make Egg Fo Yung. You won't taste the bitterness anymore. ew good morning - mung beans good morning all.....i've been away from sprouting for awhile now since we've been in the process of moving and am getting started again.....would someone please help to bring me up to speed again on a few of the details of growing nice bean sprouts please ?.....i've done some reading on the sproutpeople website.....what is it that i do to get sweet sprouts and not bitter ? before we moved, i had good luck using my home made sprouter ( just for bean sprouts ) but need to work on the sweetness factor it is nice to see that lots of people are still sprouting.....peace, mary

Guest guest
Try a google search or look on Amazon. You can find much better prices. Lee > Where do you get the liquid kelp? I have only seen it on Aerogarden and it is $29+ a qt. which seems expensive to me

Guest guest
Hi there. You ask about how many tablespoons of mung beans I used and if I used a quart or different size jar and if I followed directions??? No to all the above. I just poured the mung beans into any sized mason jar. If I wanted LOTS OF MUNG BEANS, I would have used a Big masonjar. I never soak or rinse with warm water. Only cool water that I have let run, or spring water from the bottle. And as for following directions, I'm a video type of person. I'll watch a video and that's how I learn. I watched s sunflower sprout video over and over and I got that tune in my head now. lol I use the mason jar to soak overnight, but I use the SproutGarden round green trays for all of my sprouting (except for the sunflower and pea shoots. For that I use pieplates and other trays and the Coir (which I get at Home Depot and which I now need to buy more) because I'M SUNFLOWERING MYSELF TO DEATH. And my peas are SHOOTING!!! lol Melody > > good morning again and please excuse my delayed thankyou to melody and ernest for your responses.....i posted back at the end of february but have been super busy with things other than attempting to grow mung beans.....i thank both of you and am going to get some going this weekend for sure > > melody.....so, you're the bean sprouter from sproutville !.....thanks for your video.....i couldn't tell if you were using a quart or pint jar and would you say that you had a couple of tablespoons of beans in it to start ?.....may i ask, did you use warm water to rinse them or cold ?.....did you follow the directions from the " sproutpeople " website or adapt your own way ? > > this morning i've taken a few minutes to read some of the postings and things certainly are interesting here !.....off to get some chores done.....thanks again to both of you.....peace, mary >
