Guest guest
This is fascinating stuff, Melody. I'll be interested in hearing how his journey to better health goes. Certainly his mother is a living example of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. To think that he could have perished on 9/11 but survived instead - that speaks volumes to the life he is meant to live and I hope this new vegan lifestyle helps him increase his quality of life (how can it not?!) so that he continues to live a full and active life! I'll certainly be interested in how things go. I'm like this (imagine two fingers an inch apart, LOL) close to becoming vegan (or at least vegetarian) myself. I know I've talked about it before on this group and need to get one of those starter packs. While my weight is good and most other aspects of my health is good (except for familial hypertension), I really, really want to pump it up so I can be stronger, more energetic and full of vitality as I approach my 60th b'day next month!! Oy vey - 60 years old - that boggles my brain, LOL!! Oh - almost forgot - this is for n, mostly and any other bird owners - I went to a birdmart this past weekend and they had bags of sproutables for birds there. Only $1.99/bag and I bought three and even got an additional one free too. I know I can sprout anything I get from the store for the birds too, but thought I'd try these since the price was pretty good. Did the first batch and the birds were a bit 'iffy' about it, but I think they warmed up to it by the second or third day of serving it. Seems to be mostly for the little birds as many of the seeds are quite tiny. I may look online and see how much it is there since it's a nice compact bag of numerous seeds, as well as safflower and mung beans, so it can all be soaked at once, sprouted, and offered. Just thought I'd share that. If you want the name of the product, I'll be happy to provide that (it's in the kitchen and I'm upstairs at the moment so can get it on my next trip down, LOL!). BTW, n, are you on Facebook? Would love to do a friend request if so - and also with any other sprouters on the group, if they are inclined. I already got Sproutlady Melody, LOL!! Guest guest
Thank you for the tip Thea regarding the bird sproutables. This is a big thing now in the companion bird community. If you do get a chance, please do post the brand. This morning I was watching Henry the canary, the flock leader, munch on mung bean and sunflower sprouts. I also gave them kale which they will eat every bit of. I discovered last week that our canaries and finch like watermelon. They don't care for papaya, like mango, and love apples. But sprouts are now a hot item with the flock. I am craving fenugreek sprouts and garlic vinegar tincture! Guest guest
When I started my garden this year, after lying fallow last year, I had an entire bed FULL of kale. Boy, that stuff is prolific! I was actually able to move over 50 plants! Guest guest
Hi. At my next Neuropathy Support Group Meeting, I'll see if will do a short video clip talking about his adventures into veganism. Should make a cool little clip. Melody > > This is fascinating stuff, Melody. I'll be interested in hearing how his > journey to better health goes.
