Guest guest
Everyone must be doing summer things!!! No emails today. Have a question - I purchased seeds and stuff from sprouting from my co-op, and put in my " basement " - thinking I would get them into 3.5 gallon buckets for storage. Then I couldn't find the freaking lids for my buckets. So, they've been in there, BUT, some of the bags (paper) have gotten some mould on them. Obviously, the box with the shelled sunflower seeds needs to be tossed. Do I need to toss the other bags, or can I save them somehow, or some part of them somehow. I have sunnies in the shell, red winter wheat, and one other that I'd consider tossing, but I don't know. I've sprayed the outer bags with MMS (for those that know what it is) or bleach) - (bags were not even opened) - and set outside for the UV rays to hit. Tomorrow I will be moving all the non-moulded things into plastic, and ultimate into buckets (assuming I can find the lids.) I have put a honking huge air drying treatment thingy in the basement, so at least I'm started, but what to do with the stuff I have that is " damaged " = heck, even one of my 25 lbs of salt has mold on it.
