Introduction as a newcomer

Hello to All;

I am a 46 year old unmarried woman, with no children. I was diagnosed

with HCV in 2001. I had gone to the doctor for a basic check up, and

she discovered it from one of the tests that came back. It turned out

that I contracted this illness from sharing needles with my ex-

boyfriend, who I lived with from 1980-1986. I began using

methamphetamine when I was involved with him. It was such a weird and

destructive time in my life, and I have changed so much since those

years. People who meet me nowadays would never suspect that I used to

be an IV drug user. I don't drink, smoke, or use drugs at all, and I

live a very simple life.

I went through the combination treatment of Interferon and Ribavirin

for 11 months. But based on the type of Hepatitis C I have, it did not

clear the disease from my body.

It seems like over the past few years, I have withdrawn from most

people and activities, with the exception of 1 girlfriend, and my Mom

and siblings, my niece and nephew and my aunt.

I joined this group because I thought that perhaps it might help to

talk with others who live with Hep C. Maybe I will find some

inspiration to start living life again.
