Hi, I just came on the computer now and I'm reading all the postings. I have a

question about cocoa.

Exactly what kind do I buy. I have never seen a container of cocoa. In the

baking aisle they have baking chocolate, and coconut flakes and Nestles

chocolate drink.

Exactly what kind of cocoa am I buying when I buy it to put in the pudding. and

does it contain sugar?

Can't use it then.

Thanks very much

In use raw cocoa- cacao

It is unsweetened. I don't know about the conventional cocoa- maybe too bitter,

but maybe not

OK, I did a delish

2 frozen bananas (or equiv in frozen fruit)_

2 cups soymilk (next time I'm going to play with almond milk)

1/3 cup of chia seeds

Pinch of allspice, bit of vanilla (vary spices based on fruit)

Sweetener of choice about what you'd use for 1 cup of coffee

Mix all but fruit in 4 cup container and put in fridge for 30 minutes

Once the chia has done its thing, blend it with the frozen fruit.

OMG, bliss.

That addition of the banana sounds so good.

I keep a frozen bag of bananas in the freezer so when I get home tonight, I am

making a beeline for that bag!

I am trying to keep myself out of the kitchen and away from the chia. Lol

I have the habit (probably leftover from my anorexia days), of getting into food

ruts.

Difference is that nowadays these are very healthy ruts!

I just took a shot of the garlic vinegar tincture-I hear those broccoli sprouts

calling-they are so good dipped in the tincture!

:) happy weekend!

n,

One quick question on the Chia Seeds. I know I can ground them and add them to

yogurt, smoothies, etc. But BEFORE I make the pudding, can I grind them in my

grinder, and THEN make the pudding?

Will they still gel and come out as pudding? I can't believe the difference

after 24 hours in my fridge. It's as thick as molasses.

Thanks much, and have a nice weekend.

Today Alan is 64 years old. I asked him if he wanted a birthday dinner out at

our favorite Japanese but he was in a quiet mood so we just stayed home.

Now that Father's day and his birthday is over, we can settle back to eating my

pudding and my sprouts. I sneak them into him every day.

Hi Melody

Well Happy, Peaceful birthday to Alan

I really don't know if grinding the chia seeds will affect them. I bet one of

the very knowledgeable folks will know.

I am now looking forward to some pudding myself!

Hi Beverly.

Alan served in the army but did not go to Vietnam. My cousin , was 17 when

he enlisted and I remember when he came home from DaNang. See, I even remember

where he was stationed. He played the horn in the band in the army.

My god, the stuff we remember after 40 or so years.

Tell the young 'un Happy Birthday from another of his elders!

Does your Japanese restaurant serve shrimp tempura? One of my very favorite

dishes - but of course I love shrimp in just about any guise! What dishes do you

order when you eat there?

Well, we only go when it's an occasion or a celebration. And yes indeed, I eat

Shrimp Tempura. Not all the time because it's FATTENING. But when I order a

Bento Box, I get a sampling of everything.

My favorite is the California Roll, or the Philadelphia Roll and I recently

tried the Salmon Avocado roll. Oh my god, that was delicious.

I usually order the Chicken Teriyaki Bento box or the Salmon Teriyaki Bento Box.

Divine!!
