Guest guest
Darrell, I would suggest you include this registry in your list of screens. The organization, American Academy of HIV Medicine, certifies doctors year to year on the basis of their knowledge of HIV medicine using tests and other standards. As I understand it, HIV treatment is not a recognized specialty--any internist can set up as a specialist. The doctors in this group have banded together to submit themselves to certification by their peers and to establishing a voluntary credentialling process. I don't suggest that this should be your only means of locating someone, but it seems like a good one to include. The link will take you to a list of doctors organized by zip condes. You can then examine their individual bios. http://www.aahivm.org/new/index.html Bob Emmitt
Guest guest
Darrell, I looked up the docs for United HMO Choice HMO/EPO in 94114 and ......the list is long (28 primary care docs), and there are several excellent providers on it. My recommendations are: Capaldini (she's at 533 Castro, not at Davies proper, but is my first choice), lesbian, topnotch Chase (he's at Davies) also top notch, straight male Toby Dyner at Davies, and a gem, top of the shelf, lesbian, excellent Those would be my first 3 choices. Mass is good also.... I would avoid Cazen Hope that helps. > > Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2003 14:13:29 -0800 (PST) > >Subject: In Need of a *New Doctor in San Francisco > >Can anyone recommend a qualified, personable doctor in >San Francisco (preferably at Davies) who specializes >in HIV treatment? >My previous doctor (Lee Liskey) whom I've seen for >over 9 years has been dropped by my HMO (United Health >Care) because of some mysterious legal issues...(BTW, >does anyone know what happened-he up and left his >offices in the middle of the night and was looking for >a new space for weeks) >Anyways, the website list lots of doctors but it's a >shot in the dark to choose any one at random.
