Guest guest
I am so sorry, . I think perhaps I'm considering the beautiful tape I had called " Among the Giant Trees of the Wild Pacific Coast " (I LOVE that title!!). One of the tracks is a great thunder/lightning storm (mostly thunder and crashing rain) recorded in the mountains. It's awesome! Used to be my preferred " put me to sleep " tape until it got worn out and I've never been able to replace it.  From now on, I'll consider thunder and rain only, no lightning. Although it is truly spectacular!!  Hope something good comes of the weather...  Peggy To: sproutpeople Sent: Friday, June 17, 2011 4:30 PM Subject: Re: sprouted pretzels  I live in the mountains, and we just got nailed AGAIN, by serious storms for the third time this year-yet ANOTHER of my gardens trashed for the season!! Guest guest
n Are you saying I should be selling seeds or sprouting things? We are not allowed to do any kind of business that way at any support group meetings. They made that clear early on. We can talk about healthy this and healthy that, but we are NOT allowed to offer anything for sale (unless it's a Neuropathy cream or lotion and then it has to be cleared by the Neuropathy Association or the CIDP foundation). It really wouldn't matter anyway. Mike (the new Vegan is the youngest (at 63). Most of the members are in their 70's and some late 80's. And if you think they are going to start to learn how to sprout, forget it. lol But I'm still going to bring little ziplock bags of my sprouts and give one to each member at the meeting. Now will they take them home??? Ah, that's another question. lol melody

Guest guest
People at breakfast?? I have been bringing my sprouts to breakfast for 2 years. I have showed all of them. NO ONE IS INTERESTED. You can bet the farm on that. And in my doctor's office, (well I'm going there again with my husband next month and I'm bringing a new batch of sprouts). I'll see if I can get someone interested. Guest guest
Amen to that!!! Plus most of the foods in today's carts have labels, (so it's probably like trying to read a mini-novel anyway with all that labeling, LOL) rather than buying fresh, non-labeled food such as produce!! And Melody's right - people have to approach you first - otherwise, they are not inclined to learn or want to change their diet. There's a lady in my office who is interested in learning out to sprout and I'm happy to teach her. They know I bring my sprouts for lunch and I've even shared them as well. The fact that I work in a wellness practice does tend to add more credibility to my sprouting and the interest level is higher as well. T. Guest guest
Hi n. I will have to be happy with taking my videos and sharing them here and on youtube. Believe me, I get LOTS of inspiration and loads of satisfaction just doing that. The funniest reaction I ever got was actually about a year ago when I was at that Neuropathy meeting. At that time I used to bring my supper with me. It was grilled something or other over my sprout salad. One of the guys said " What are you eating? " I looked at him and I said: " Oh, don't you know what these are? I grow the in my kitchen " He said: " you grow stuff in your kitchen, what do you grow? " I said: " SPROUTS " Well, I never laughed so hard at his reaction. He said (in a loud voice). SPROUTS???? SPROUTS??? What the h are SPROUTS?? " I laughed so hard, and he started to laugh. I explained it all and he said " I could never eat that " He was a single man, never cooked anything in his life and lived on microwaveable meals. I asked him " Would you like to learn? " He said " Are you kidding, that's rabbit food " . So that was the end of that discussion. Another time I was at my podiatrist office, sitting in the chair and because I know he raises Oxialis and he has some kind of greenhouse, I said " Do you know what sprouts are? " And he said " Yeah, the stuff they serve at salad bars, I HATE THEM? And I had been about to ask him if he would like a bag of sprouts. Thank God I didn't ask him. He made a face and said " who on earth eats those things? " Who indeed??? lol Melody > > > n > > > > Are you saying I should be selling seeds or sprouting things? Guest guest
Hi Holly, Welcome to the group. The French Garden is outstanding. It is the mix that finally got my wife to start eating sprouts. Plus, I grow sunflower sprouts in my kitchen window sill, and she loves to nibble them and put them on sandwiches. Try mixing your alfalfa seeds with equal amount of broccoli seed. I think you'll like them. ew Re: sprouted pretzels So many people only know the flavor of alfalfa sprouts and those are kinda bland and blech compared to clover and radish and some of the rest (that's all I've had so far, I'm expanding my horizons ) I'm so excited to try the french garden mix I'm sprouting now!
