Guest guest
Hi Judy: I think that the Macrolides or Quinolones would be the antibiotics of choice for her, especially with a damaged immune system. At this point, what does she have to lose. ( Why are Drs. concerned about drug addiction when a person is dying of a painful disease ) Hope this helps a little. Please remember that my experience is only with animals. My knowledge on humans comes from what I have read and recieved from you wonderful people, not by personal experience. It was like my vision got crinkly around the edges, like my peripheral vision was jumping around a little. Hard to describe, and as I said it didn't hurt. It happened twice and each time it went away when I lowered the dose. Nell
Guest guest
nne, Allie gets sick within one week of chelating her EVERY TIME! It's always a cold type infection, sometimes requiring antibiotics. DMSA, and sometimes DMPS, can lower these making people more susceptible to infection and less able to fight it off. I'd also consider a possible allergy to whatever chelator you are using. Guest guest
nne, How high is your dose? If side effects are bad, Andy says to lower the dose. You don't pull that much less mercury and your child is much more comfortable. Weird things can happen during these cycles. My son has had several cycles where his eyes have gone in and out of focus the whole three days. Other people report getting dizzy every time they turn their head. So make sure he's getting the supps he needs (Vit C helps) and keep the dose low. Barb [ ] Help please! Hi all, My son is 8 and on his 4th round of ALA only, ¼ ,mg per body weight. He had a cold when we started chelating this weekend. We wrote to the list Friday about whether to start or not, and we decided to go ahead. Well it doesn't seem like it was the correct choice at the moment. He is complaining of stabbing pains in his eyes this evening. He explains them as points coming into his eyes. I thought it was from going out in the sun after spending the last 4 days inside. So we put sunglasses on him. However, it is still occurring after his bath inside tonight. He even mentioned that it had happened before at Target a few weeks ago. Target is full of fluorescent lights, so I thought it was about the brightness etc. However this evening, he has been inside, and it is still happening intermittently. Maybe it is a good thing, because he can finally express himself, and this could have been happening for a long time and we just didn't know about it. He has never wanted to go outside much, and we live in Florida where it is bright most of the time. I asked him if he was seeing the points or feeling them, and he said feeling them. Does anyone out there know what in the world is happening? I have no idea really at this point. Thanks for any input, nne
Guest guest
Barb, We are using 12.5mg. He is 60 pounds. I thought this was about as low as I could go. He has had a harder time this round because he had a cold when we started. I thought it was the tail end of the cold, and the ALA might help. However it only got worse. He never had a fever, just a huge amount of head congestion. He is behind on supplements for sure, since I can hardly get anything into him. I don't think I would do another round when he isn't feeling good first. I learned my lesson. nne Re: [ ] Help please! nne, How high is your dose? Guest guest
She does eat some dairy, with AFP Peptizyde. However, her first few rounds of chelation she was still completely gfcf and still got ill. She has not had any regression in the nearly year she's been off gfcf with enzyme assist. She has no amalgams. I use approx. 5mg ALA every 3-4 hrs. I say approx because they are in the 25mg caps and I divide by eyeballing it. She is 43 lbs. I also use the suggested list of supps in the files section. Before chelating she was sick every 3 weeks with a cold-type virus, doc kept saying nothing bacterial. Then she seemed to heal immunologically, rarely got sick after that. Seems chelation is what triggers illness. I just had an OAT, hair test, and food allergy testing run, still waiting on results. Guest guest
Nope, I don't have a doc overseeing. I went to a DAN! doc, but he wants to use a different protocol, so I don't think I'll be going back, I'm using Andy's protocol. I usually only chelate once every few mos to allow her body time to recover. You think ALA allergy might be to blame? > Are you monitoring her neutrophil/poly levels? Guest guest
It's Kirkman Labs. Other Ingredients: sorbitol, citric acid, plant cellulose, sucralose, menthol flavor, silicon dioxide and natural mixed fruit flavor I don't see any of these as being a problem with her, but I guess one never knows. My son now rarely gets sick, but as chelation progressed, it did seem that his virus issues increased. I did another maintenance round of ALA last week/weekend. My son was a little stimmy during this round, which I have not seen in a while. I increased his Lauricidin, and once I stopped the round, he is MUCH improved. I would consider viral issues for your child. Dana

No-Fenol enzyme can help some kids with those issues. Dana

Guest guest
Yes leave it off until the fever goes down to 99-how old is she? If she is older than 6 months give her Motrin-it lasts longer and does a better job of reducing the fever fast. Guest guest
Leave it off at night until the fever has been under 100.5 for 24 hours. If you are controlling with tylenol during the day you could let her take a nap in it. However, don't risk the overheating at night. Fevers can spike so easily. Since she is sick chances are she is not doing much growing so you aren't missing any good rounding. mom to na DOC Grad South Carolina www.thefilyaws.com philgrad2000 <philgrad2000@...> wrote: My daughter is sick with a stomach virus, and has a fever of close to 101. Guest guest
HI ! I know how you feel. Let me suggest to you what my loved ones have suggested to me and that is to not stress and worry. Easier said than done. As you alreday know the stress and worry will only make things worse. I have exactly as you wrote and I still have no answers. I just don't know if they will ever have any answers to some of these mysteries. I think they will for you. I hope so. For me they are still trying to figure out what is going on. I just had more lab work done today and I return to the r/a on Sept. 7th. I am covered with lidodorm patches on my back and knee and on one hand with a wrist brace. I hope these patches aren't dangeros now that I think about it. I am just in so much pain and I had to be able to walk out to be taken to the hospital to have lab work and an mri done and so on. I am trying. I will be hoping to hear good news from you on Friday as sometimes it the medication that they give us can elevate the liver enzymes. Maybe I''m wrong. I'm not a Dr. I wish you the best. Try to relax and think positive!! It the best friendly advice I can give you. Or have a good cry and get it over with. That works too. I care! And that goes for each and everyone of you in and out of this group who lives with chronic pain and any health problems. With love, Marie --- In , " Climer " <climers4@a...> wrote: > Hi all.
