Hi Ric,

The blood test came back with my genotype (1a) and the viral load. The

number was 200,000+. However, when I took that to my liver specialist he told

me

the number on my blood test was usually multiplied by 8, so that I really

had a count of around 2 mill. I asked him once again before I left his office

to explain this and he restated it, so I know I heard him correctly. I am

not sure why it has to 8x or whether that is with only certain tests or certain

labs. He is well know in the field of hep C and is affiliated with the

local medical college. So I believe this is accurate info. I do not know how

this applied to everyone else here who keeps tabs on their numbers. Perhaps

someone on this list will know more about such test results and will respond?

Other than that folks may want to make sure about their number by questioning

their provider about whether the test results is the actual number of their

viral load or whether they need to multiple it.
