Guest guest
Just got labs back from latest bloodwork and Creatinine has stayed the same and the GFR is now down to 50. Recall that last week, my PCP halved my dose of Spiro in response to high Creatinine and Low GFR. In addition, latest bloodwork shows K has decreased from 4.5 to 3.7 in just 1 week and pressure has gone from 100/60 to 124/70. In response to my latest bloodwork, my PCP is advising my to stop the Spiro all together and have a renal artery doppler test and see a Nephrologist. I am very concerned about stopping the Spiro as my K will drop to abnormally low levels, blood pressure will sky-rocket (Pre Spiro values were in the neighborhood of 180/100) and I will not feel good. Any advice?? In addition, I did a bunch of reading about Creatinine levels and it seems that one might have high values if their levels are checked after intense physical activity. On both occasions the blood was drawn the day after working with my band. I am a drummer (not my day job) and we get together every weekend and play for around 3 hours. The type of music we play is very intense and the drumming is extremely physical (It's a great aerobic workout). I can't help but wonder if this is affecting my Creatinine values. In addition, I seem to constantly battle dehydration (since I was a kid) and I realize that this could affect Creatinine values. I really think it is a mistake for me to stop the Spiro. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated. 48 yr old male, 6'3 " 240lbs, bilateral hyperplasia diagnosed in 2007 Other issues: bicuspid aortic valve, enlarged aortic root, hypothyroidism, allergies, asthma, gout, stomach discomfort, depression Meds: Spironolactone, Levoxyl, Allopurinol, Toprol, Allegra, Prilosec, Ranitidine, Singulair, Advair, Flonase, Albuterol, Wellbutrin > > > > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to report that I had routine bloodwork the other > > > day and > > > > > > > Creatinine was 1.5 and Estimated GFR was 54. Guest guest
Have you been taking Sprio since Dx in 2007? What other meds have you been on? Any recent injection of contrast agents? Might want to go here and pot in all meds and see how your meds interact together http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.html > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I wanted to report that I had routine bloodwork the other > > > > day and > > > > > > > > Creatinine was 1.5 and Estimated GFR was 54.
