Guest guest
That's actually pretty common - everybody's vein structure is a little different and sometimes they'll think they are in the right place, but won't know that they weren't until after the labs come in. My first time around for AVS, the cannula was suspected to be in the hepatic vein rather than the adrenal vein, so I had to have it re-done. Second time around I insisted on having the head interventional radiologist do it, rather than an associate who did it the first time around. Everything went fine, results were clearly lateralized to the left, I had the left adrenal removed and now I'm doing great. So if you have compelling reasons to opt for surgery over meds/dietary changes, IMO it's worth it to insist on repeating the procedure. -msmith1928 Nulliparous female, 46, 5'3 " , 115 lbs, CT showed 1cm left adrenal nodule, AVS determined disease is unilateral, had left laparoscopic adrenalectomy on 10/13/2011. Low sodium, fructose- and grain-free diet due to hereditary fructose intolerance, lactose intolerance, gluten intolerance (probable celiac). > > > > Add item 5: > > > > | > > |1. I am frustrated that I have to fight for the AVS again. Im happy to hear you re doing great. > > > > > > Add item 5: > > > > > > | > > > |1. Guest guest
I'm in the US (California). I was very fortunate (and surprised!) to not have to put up much of a fight to have it re-done - all it took was a few phone calls. Initially the main resistance I was up against was from my HTN specialist; he wanted me to travel to Mayo Clinic to get it " done right " but that just wasn't practical for me. > > > > > > > > Add item 5: > > > > > > > > | > > > > |1.
