Hey all! Just wanted to give you a quick update on my adrenalectomy. I came home last night after a day and a half hospital stay - everything went pretty routinely, my surgeon told me the only thing that was unexpected was my adrenal was surrounded by fat deposits that she was surprised to see. She said she has never seen that in a patient who wasn't overweight. This meant she had to make one of the incisions larger than normal, and it's held with sutures rather than the usual glue/steristrips. And really, that's the only pain I'm in. Well, that and the remaining carbon dioxide in my system - it's more discomfort than pain at this point though but the first night was pretty awful.BP has been all over the place - I've seen lows of 130s/80s and highs of 160s/100s. Potassium was 3.2 after the surgery and came up to 3.6 after a 40MEQ dose and stayed there all day. Getting re-checked on Tuesday. Will post the whole story, or what I remember of it, in a couple of days.-msmith1928Nulliparous female, 46, 5'3", 120 lbs, polymenorrhea, hyperinsulinemia, hereditary fructose intolerance,
