Okay. Kerry, why " Ringo.com " ? That is a cute name! Does it have

something to do with Ringo Starr of the Beatles, or is that just a catchy name,

or what? Please explain more and tell us about this site. Thanks Much!! All

the Best to you and your new venture! Hugs, PJ

I don't know how the site got its name & have been curious about it

myself, PJ. I joined this site back in July after someone who'd

written to me from one of the penpal groups here at Yahoo invited me.

It's a site to meet new people & make new friends or catch up with

old friends & there's a lot of things to do there such as just

posting whatever tickles your fancy on their forum/message board,

there's a poll section where people can vote on or make up their own

polls about whatever they want to & there's a lot to tell about it

that would take too much space to explain. I've become acquainted

with a lot of nice, not-so-nice & interesting people there & have

made a few friends.

I just decided to start my life over at this site because there's

just too much baggage & unpleasant memories here at Yahoo. I'm still

in a few other groups here, but don't post anything. Not even in my

own group anymore. For the first time in a long time, I'm enjoying

the internet again since I joined this new site & not being at Yahoo

much.

Kerry,

I'm so happy to hear that you are enjoying the internet again!!

I know you have been miserable, and have had so many ups and downs, and that is

really neat to " find yourself " again and to feel like you fit in.

Congratulations!!

Thanks for the info on the site. We will check into it more.

Stay in touch with us occasionally -- so we know how you are doing. I think you

made many friends in affirmations! Have a super week! Peace, PJ

Dear Ashok,

Yeah! Wives do get annoyed when you feel young and you do not go*!

However, you did not clarify whether Renuka is getting annoyed because

you are feeling young or not going?

After reading what you have written it gives me goosebumps. You should be

very proud of yourself and all you accomplishments that you've made and are

continuing to make. Attending college is really hard (I started at 43 and I'm

45

now). I have a daughter with PDD-NOS, she is 8 years old. Like you her

memory is unbelievable. She also had some problems with speech when she was

younger, but now they call her a chatterbox. Its really nice to hear from

someone

on the Autistic Spectrum to give us parents out here hope for the future. God

Bless you sweetheart and keep the great work up!

Hi Lorna

Yes my daughter does have learning problems. She has a real hard

time with handwritting, as well as math and spelling too. But she reads

unbelievably well, never forgets anything, loves to talk and talk. Thank God

she

talks well, she really didn't put a sentence together until she was 4. She is

also a very happy little girl and I thank God for her. You know something Lorna

we all have something going on, no one is perfect. We all have things that we

do really well and also some things that we need help with. Hey I have ADHD,

never knew until I was in my 40's. Now I can understand a lot more about

myself, why I couldn't learn to read notes and play an instrument. Also why I

interupt when people speak, I'm impulsive too, etc., etc. But you know what

else

I found out in my 40's that I'm really smart. Just like you are very smart!

So you know what sweetheart, you hold your head up, look up and out and touch

the good things in life and trust in yourself, it seems like you have much

more going for you than you take credit for.

I to think the world in which we retreat is more of a safe

haven to us. It is not the autism in itself we are saying because if

so that would mean autism is a choice , but it is a inner place of

scripts and self play and thoughts that can be to consume some of us

to the point of not being able to connect to the real of life. It is

a mode of self protections and self preservations. Some can go their

by choice but many of us go there without thinking , we to just find

ourselves there. have no clue how long we to be there but just like

wake up finding selves there . like day dreaming. Like in trance of

inner swirling thoughts that are forming to visuals with meanings.

The husband of me to often say Hey when you to come back to earth

hope you will sahre of you journey. or that I will be to share to

him what was of so funny. as sometimes find self laughing to self

over teh visual pictures that come to my thinkings.

Jess does talk to herself at time but with words not with vocal sounds, it

called self-talk. Some of us talk inside of our heads and some of us talk out

loud I guess for comfort. Forgot to thank you for telling me I must be a good

mother. I'm a single mom, no dad here and its really hard, but she is the

best thing in my life, I really love her a lot. Are you on any special diet?

Link to comment

Hi Lorna

We are on a very restricted diet here. is gluten (wheat protein),

casein (milk protein), soy, corn, potato, additive/preservative, dye free. Also

low sugar too. Jess had some sensory issues, their much better now after the

diet. Red dye seems to effect a great deal of people. When you get sensory

sensative, try and remember what you ate that day. If you want to know more

about special diets, please ask. I am a walking book of knowledge here, and

love to help people. I truly believe that God gave me to help others.

There is also a book that describes sensory problems. Its called " The Out of

Sync Child " . It seems that you are a visual/perseptual learner, is

also. I think that I am as well. I was wondering how old are you, if you

don't

mind me asking?? What are you going to college for? I would love to be a

Psychologist, but unfortunately, I started school in my 40's.

Yes being a single mom is really tough. I have a really nice boyfriend

though, we don't live together. He is a farmer which is really cool.

loves going to the farm and playing with the goats. My favorite animal are the

cows, especially the babies, they are so cute. Do you like the out doors? I

live in NJ, what state are you in? I actually grew up in the city, but have

always had country in my heart.

Hi Bridget

Sure thing...

Breakfast: eggs, rice bread, bacon or sausage

muffin made from nut flour with blueberries

today she had granola from Enjoy Foods and a pear with

vanilla rice milk

Lunch: today was roast beef salad with mayo (from whole foods), carrots,

homemade peanut butter cookies (made with nut flour, honey, etc.) , rice

crackers

and water.

Dinner: tonight I think I'm making turkey breast (she loves brussel sprouts)

snacks: she is always hungry (gained 6 pounds since last year, God bless

her) probably a homemade icepop from frozen fruit, some cereal, nuts, rice

crackers, fruit leather etc.

want some help with a special diet let me know... would love to help you.

Hi Lorna

Don't think that I forgot about you! Life is insane at times. So your from

Kansas, my older kids stepbrother lives in the same town as you. My daughter

le (18 in county college - lst year) said there isn't too much to do in

Kansas. I'm about 25 miles from NYC. I enjoy NY, but after the world trade

thing its kind of scary. I think of the Wizard of Oz when I think of Kansas

(lol).

What are you going to college for? Its hard but I love College. Your living

on your own too? That's tough. Me too on my own raising my children alone.

I have a 21 year old son who is a Sr. at Rutgers College. He lives in a

townhouse with 3 other people. Still holds his hand out, if you know what I

mean. He is that extended adolescent.

Back to school night for my little one tonight. Fought like hell to get her

back in district. Gotta get her little butt off to school. Talk to you soon.
