From my past knowledge of dealing and attaining SSDI on the first

try (One of the lucky ones) with the SS Admin. I can say that if

granted SSDI it reverts to the day of application or the year of

application or the prior year of application. I would gather from

your posts that the Judge should hear the destitute circumstances

this has brought upon you and your family. And plead for the best

adjustment to satisfy your needs. The lawyer will probably do this.

You can also email or phone your local state representative and tell

your story. I have found them to be very assertive and demanding of

state agencies to help your case. They may also lead you to private

and non profit foundations that support food distribution. Or direct

you to the right person or agency to speak to.

A note. According to SS rules your SSDI reverts to retirement at 64

for age 65. This is confusing but here how it works. SS calls it

retirement but you still get the same disability payment. Not a

reduced retirement payout. Your children (If you have any) will get

this reward based on a percentage of your payout according to SS

rules. That is a back reward for the time period you get. If you

have children under 18 there are many federally funded state

agencies that may cover the childrens health and medical care free.

If you can not afford health insurance. Part of the " no child left

behind program " . Also as you may know Medicare only covers 80% of

the fees Medicare approved that are submitted by your doctors or

hospitals. Hospitals do readjust in some cases to account for the

differences in charges. But some doctors do not. I ask each doctor

about this and try to know best guess ahead of time what my portion

will be.

Scroll down to the Help In Your State area and select your state and

pages of information will appear to help you in your quest for help

with phone numbers and websites. You will need Adobe reader

(Acrobat) to view the pages.

If you do not have Adobe reader then go to

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Adobe is one of the largest software reader companies and is used by

many many corporations and web sites to view on the web and in

private documents. If on a dial up line this will take a while to

download. The document you view on the cover the uninsured site is

not on your PC unless you choose to save it to your PC from the

Adobe plugin in Iexplorer.

Hope this helps.

Hugs and prayers,

Fred
