Starting Spiro Newbie questions

Hello,

I just recently found and joined the group and have been trying to keep up with

all the information. So much is very informative, but as a newbie I have a few

basic questions.

I was just diagnosed as having PA. My goal has been, always will be, to be free

of my hbp. I had hbp since an earlier than normal age (30) and my goal was

always to get off the 4-cocktail load my very first gp just kept adding on. So,

I switched to a new gp and it turned out she was very intuitive to even suggest

this possibility. I had never heard of such a thing! Every time I was at my gp's

office we'd always have the discussion what more can I do to lower my numbers.

Well, after losing 30 pounds, exercising 4-5 hours per week and basically

regained a healthy stature my bp numbers are still high. She ran a basic panel

and caught on that my k was low and wanted to test for PA. After a basic renin

and aldo test that she oredered my markers were consistent for PA. She referred

me to a nephorologist who did the saline IV test. Again, confirming the numbers

from my first test. He then ordered a ct scan and found a .9 cm adenoma on my

adrenal. So here I am today.

The Nephorologist recommends the AVS to determine what the numbers are.

So, my questions are:

1. If I just went on spiro with no intention of adrenalectomy at this time do I

need the AVS?

2. Can I just begin the spiro regiment to get the bp lowered?

3. How long do I need to take spiro before it regulates the bp? (I am on a low

dose to begin with)

and I'm throwing this out there:

4. What, if any, natural things, (or supplements) can one take to help support

the adrenals and this condition? (I already do a healthy diet, low sodium, etc)

Thanks for your help and feedback.
