Diane:

I was sort of stunned to read your post about Dr. VanDyke's research. My

daughter (23 mo) doesn't necessarily have a full-blown seizure

disorder, but she has had one full seizure after climbing over her crib rail

and landing on her head, and one episode with lip smacking during a febrile

illness resulting in an abnormal EEG. Her Neuro thinks she has a tendency to

have " provoked " seizures, but not a big problem. He and we thought this was

an after-effect of her having bacterial meningitis at 5-1/2 months of age.

Part of that thinking is because she started having fine hand tremors after

the meningitis, and the tremors seemed to be neurological in nature. They

gradually disappeared after a few months but came back a couple of months

ago.

But now you're saying they're looking for a connection to seizures and PIDs?

Very interesting.

(mom to , 23 mo, CVID)
