Guest guest
Christy, Thank you for asking all of the question you have asked...because of your questions I started doing more research into this myself. My son Zach has done so well in other area's (and this is were I spent my time and energy) that I have not followed up as much as I should have about chelation and mercury issues. Actually I have been needing to do this because we have a dentist trying to convince me that a " silver " filling would be fine (the best) for Zach...well my instinct's are screaming at me that this dentist just does not know! Anyway's because of the research and following up on everybody's information and links, I am not going to allow that poison in my sons mouth! If autism has taught me anything...it's to listen to my gut instincts about my child! The " professionals " can only advise by what they have been taught... Anyway's in researching this issue I came across a list of DAN Dr's in TX, hope this help's you as well. Thanks to everyone else for the great info. and answers to Christy's questions...life can be really hectic sometimes and it is nice to have people who know so much about this and are so willing to share their knowledge. Guest guest
, Thanks so much for all the info. I really appreciate you taking the time to find this info for me. I really worry about the possible side effects of chelation. I am thinking I want to try vitamins and minerals and a few other supplements before getting into chelation. I have heard of possible kidney and liver problems and even seizures. Also I wondered if anyone knew how the chelation actually made their child feel. Does it hurt, do they feel anything during or even after the treatments? Do they feel like they are going through withdrawals or anything when the metals are coming out? I haven't heard anyone mention how the child feels during this. Thanks again and everyone for the great info. Sometimes metals get released too fast or minerals get depleted during chelation and you see a rise in seizures. Usually those who have seizures during chelation are kids who have already shown a tendency to have them. I have never heard of a case where a child who had never had seizures before had them due to chelation, though I imagine anything is possible. If your child is seizure prone, your doc should start slow and monitor mineral levels very carefully. It is very common for seizures to significantly lessen or disappear with chelation. My son is mostly seizure free now after completing chelation. At his worst, he was having more than ten seizures a day a few years ago. They lessened within the first two rounds of chelation and continued to drop to nearly nothing as he progressed. There were a few occasions during the chelation process where they increased but adding minerals always made them subside. >Also I wondered if anyone knew how the chelation actually made their child feel. > feel anything during or even after the > treatments? I've been through chelation and usually it feels pretty good when you're on the chelator though you go through periods as the metals are released where you can feel a little ill, irritated, tired, weak and/or spacy. It usually comes in cycles where you feel ill or weird followed by feeling great. The first day I ever did chelation was amazing, the world brightened, my head cleared and I felt so good. The next day, I felt like a truck had run me over -- achy, tired, weak -- as the metals came out but as I remineralized, I felt great again. Guest guest
Sorry for not saying welcome to you earlier, but I had so many post that I just deleted most of them. Don't let this overwhelm you, and read as much as you can about it. If you have any question just ask like I do and someone out there will give you some good answers. Most of the advice here is first hand, and most times as good as or better than what the Drs. give. It's kinda like trying to tell the Dentist, who has never had a tooth ache, how your tooth hurts. Hope you have a great day. Guest guest
Okay I have a question. Anyone not on treatment ever ended up in the ER getting fluids for dehydration? This happened to me, I was feeling like I had heaviness in my chest and a little diarrhea for 3 days not a big deal. Well I got up this morning and upon standing my heart started beating like crazy and I couldn't catch my breath. Now I have heard people talk about this happening on TX, but I'm not on treatment and I carry around a 64oz bottle of filtered water that I drink all day. Just curious Jo Re: thanks Don't you know there are NO stupid questions? Ask away.
Guest guest
Nope 1000 questions is our limit. Liz is the official stupid question counter and tries to keep track of the totals. But don't worry Liz and everyone else here isn't sure what day it is and me I don't even know what week so the totals are way off. Love and Hugs. Guest guest
, I'd like to personally thank you for all the work you do in keeping this list focussed and free of irrevelant e-mails. This group has been tremendously empowering for me. It has helped me make some important decisions in my health and has also taught me a few things I did not know about. I think I speak for many of the members when I say that I really appreciate your efforts. Please keep up the good work! Amen! I've gotten alot of information here. This list has also let me know that I'm far from alone in dealing with the terrible side effects from the drugs. All the doctors see are our "numbers", and say that we should be grateful that we're still alive...they don't understand that still being alive and having a bad self image can give a person a very mixed bag of emotions. Thank you for all the work you do to keep this list alive. I have told many online friends about it. Charlie in Ct.

Guest guest
Well the "specialists" say that IF You are in a monogamous relationship that you dont have to worry as much as you should if you are having multiple sex partners. So if you are not in a committed relationship, I think using the comdoms ALWAYS is the best thing you can do..and of course to let any partner know of your hep c so they can make an INFORMED choice or not whether to have sex or not. In MY mind, that is the only responsible thing to do, but each of us must do what our own conscience tells us... Yep, the hep is not going to go away,, you can only put it in remission with tx if you can tolerate treatment. I was very lucky, I did tx and did reach SVR,, last Feb was my 2 year PCR and I was still undetectible, Im hoping to be the same in a couple of months when I do my 3 year PCR... Stay in touch hon,, and Good luck, God Bless and Merry Christmas! jackiefowlereagles2004 wrote: Think I might becouse I'm just getting older and hep is not going away. Guest guest
Well IF you put it into remission, then that is a blessing in and of itself,, so many ppl become chronic and it takes a long time to try to beat it back and stop the progression of this disease. IF you are trying to make this relationship as real one, I wish you well and I hope it turns out as you want it to,, but in the meantime, please continue to use condoms, its not just HEPC that we have to be worried about,, good luck honey, jaxfowlereagles2004 wrote: Well if TX is needed I'm real lucky.
