Dear Colleagues, My text is a CT interpretation, and the writer is not available to query. One sentence reads: " The pleura and costoperineal sinuses are without deviation. " I believe this should be " costoperitoneal " sinuses. Do you think I'm safe in this assumption? Is there anything that could possibly be costoperineal? (Text was typed by a medical transcriptionist, so anything is possible.) Thanks, Fran ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fran Spielberg PhD Medical & Academic Translating and Editing Hebrew <=> English writing@... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Save 75% on Products! Guest guest
I am not an english native speaker, but I can't find any hit in Medline or Google when looking for " costopleural sinus(es) " . Under " sinus " , Dorland's dictionary only mentions the costodiaphragmatic sinus, the costomediastinal sinus and the costophrenic sinus. Saludos > Of course! Guest guest
, thank you and the others who suggested costophrenic. I decided to offer both choices and flag it for the editor of the compilation. My problem is that the Hebrew transliteration of the term has an L-sound in it. This is probably the error of the transcriptionist (confusing the [r] and [l]), but I'll let the editor decide. Great group. Thanks very much.
