Also, I modify the advance to my level. Good luck and welcome! ~Kat
Guest guest
welcome to the group!!!!! I think you have a great method of working up to the advanced but don't push yourself just yet. Take the time to realy practice on the form. If you are just starting out after not working out for a while that'll sufficiently boost your metabolism for a while. Might as well take advantage of the shorter workouts while you can!!!! When you feel ready why not do basic and then add in 5-10 minutes of an advanced tape and then work up to 30 minutes basic, 30 minutes advanced and then do all Advanced with modifications taking out those modications as you feel more comftorable. But I can not stress enough take your time to learn the fundementals. You'll get a bigger pay off on your time investment. OK...when I get my instructional tape back I am going to insititute a challenge in particular week for all those willing to review a little bit of the instructional in installments over three days periods of time. << Hi all, Joined this list a few days ago & have been reading all the posts. I am a 38 year old SAHM of 2 and am determined to be fit by 40! I began an exercise program this month after being a " computer potatoe " . ;~) Before the kids-- was a step aerobics instructor at a health club & lifted weights etc. Now , I have 30 pounds to lose, and am motivated. I bought the Tae Bo tapes and love them. I have been doing the 21 day challenge and am on day 7--Yesterday , bought the advanced tape & tried it today. MERCY!!!! I tried all the sets made it @25 minutes through & then stuck through a set of most of the rest. My question is-- What has worked for you & how do I work up to do the advanced? Any ideas? The advanced tape about did me in & I sure did not finish 1/2 of it. Thanks in advance for your answers! Dozier As Deb has said: " Fitness is a journey and it begins with the first step. You can work up to the advanced by doing the basic and slowly adding on more to your workouts. Like maybe do the basic and the 8 minute together. Or the basic and the floorwork from the advanced. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you have gone thru that instructional many times!! Welcome again!!

Your question cracked me up because everyone has trouble when they first try the advanced tape. It is tough! Getting through the tape the first time like you did is impressive. Do you know if you have the studio or the live tape? The live tape is a large class with a lot of regular people and also regular music (songs with lyrics). With either the studio or live advanced tape, you can add the floor work to your basic workout until you are ready for the entire advanced tape. You can also add the 8 minute tape (if you have it) to the basic tape to increase your stamina. Another trick is what you did -- modify the moves (ex., by doing just one set of each move or doing the moves in regular rather than double time) in the advanced tapes. You are doing great! Hang in there!
