I guess it depends on what SX you have. I had extremely low renin and Dr. Grim

said some doctors would classify as " Low renin HTN " which he considers early PA.

(BP had been uncontrolled on 7 meds. and I had been treating for over 30 yrs.)

I was started on 25mg of Spiro and BP resolved with days. They changed it to bid

to resolve other SX of PA and it took 10 months for that to resolve.

That's probably as good as it gets for BP control. Many here can tell you the

other side of the story!

- 65 yo super ob. male - 12mm X 13mm rt. a.adnoma with previous rt. flank

pain. Treating with Meds. And DASH. . Current BP(last week ave): 125/73

Other Issues/Opportunities: OSA w Bi-Pap settings 13/19, DM2, and PTSD.

Meds: Duloxetine hcl 80 MG, Mirtazapine 7.5 MG, Metoprolol Tartrate 200 MG,

81mg asprin, Metformin 2000MG and Spironolactone 50 MG.

do a low salt diet and eat only whole real food, nothing processed.

I know everyone is different, but how long does it take for Spiro to start working? What seems to be the general time frame?

I began a small dosage and it had no effect. I just started yesterday taking 50 mg per day. Any guesses on how long it takes before I see better numbers? I do a low salt diet and eat only whole real food, nothing processed.

My diastolic number isn't moving much.
