Guest guest
I'm passing along this encouragement from Ruth Deddens. She is commenting on the post I made yesterday about our visit to 7 congressional offices last January. I think we should follow up on the seeds that we planted last January. Let’s request follow up sessions w/those whom we delivered evidence while they are home on their summer break. Like Steve suggests you all can do this too in your own home district, or join us if you’re nearby. Don’t be afraid. It’s not hard and they realize that they work for you and need your support to continue what they are doing. http://.OneMoreSoul.com/ has lots of free and low cost educational materials you are welcome to use if you’d like. Also I think the time is right for trying to get a distinguished panel lead by Dr. Kahlenborn on national mainstream news programs. He likes Greta’s program. Hannity, O’Reiley, , and others would help get the message out that the pill is a class one carcinogen, and it is BAD for women. We could spin with the “green” movement and reveal the epidemic of breast cancer and strokes caused in part by the pill. Btw Who knows someone on the inside who could help get us on the national media? One more thing….it’s not that hard to call and make an appointment w/your congresspersons. I called and asked to talk to the schedulers and made friendly small talk about the important information that I had to share w/them. I approached it as an educator trying to save lives. Huge numbers of families have been suffering w/their friends and loved ones through the breast cancer epidemic. The result is that we have an audience. We just need to step up to tell what we know. The Holy Spirit is on the move….pray and listen for what direction we are to go. 0:-) Ruth PS I almost forgot about our initiative to have hearings in the Ohio Senate on the hazards of the pill. Senator Peggy Lehner expressed interest in helping w/that. We need to set an appointment w/her too. Thu Aug 4, 2011 4:51 am (PDT) Our previous governor, current head of Health and Human Services, KathleenSebillius, has decided that Obamacare will cover contraceptives free ofcharge and all health plans will do the same. What can we do to stop thisassault on our Faith and our world? I want to know what would be mosteffective. Time is short.Amy Hogan, MD Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (5) 1b. Re: Stopping HHS Posted by: " Kippley" jfkippley@... jfkippley Thu Aug 4, 2011 11:29 am (PDT) I am waiting for someone to take the lead in this. I suggest that instead of framing this ABC funding as anti-Faith we should frame it as anti-women's health. Kahlenborn has some horrible statistics about young women taking this doctor-and-government approved carcinogen. Our congresspeople are back home. Perhaps there should be an organized visitation process. Kippley Re: Supporting Priests who Preach about Contraception from the PulpiNo, maybe priests don't need to be experts in NFP details, but when we do brief priests on NFP details, even as seminarians, they have been known to instruct their couples about NFP before they come to us. I know that strengthens the NFP message all around. One priest here is a second vocation - he used to be an MD - and he admitted he knew zilch about NFP, but was glad to learn. One very supportive "NFP priest" WAS 'giving an okay' of some sort to sterilizations because he was told "the doctor says it is necessary". It must have been the Holy Spirit who arranged a conversation between us and it was able to be discussed how morally, this is never necessary. Staying prayerful always helps us!One nice idea to be with priests is to attend their smaller deanery meetings and take only 5 minutes for questions/presentations. Sadly, we have yet to get to one ; the decision-makers never have accepted it into the minutes. This discussion prompts me that it is time for us to try again! Ann, RN/ NFPIntntl-- Fr. R. University Faculty for Life blog Posted by: " E. " k.e.miller@... profkevin Thu Aug 4, 2011 1:35 pm (PDT) I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think that anyone has brought this to the list's attention in the past. University Faculty for Life, an interdisciplinary association of pro-life university faculty, now has a blog on its web site, at http://uffl.org/blog/It has actually been up and running for more than a year now but we've recently upped the posting. The posts are by UFL board members (including both Fehring and me from this list).Several very recent posts include information about and analyses of the HHS contraception coverage decision. Some list members might be interested in these or other items on the blog. Please check it out - and tell your families, friends, friends' families, etc. Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (1) Recent Activity 1 New MembersVisit Your Group Yahoo!
