Guest guest
Yes but aldo will usually be very low. Usually due to a genetic problem in the biosynthetic pathway of adrenal steroids. I have never recognized a case. There are other signs and symptoms that should be a clue. Any good endocrine text describes these. As does HTN PRIMER as I recall. May your pressure be low!CE Grim MS, MDSpecializing in DifficultHypertension This is a question for all the PA experts on this board. I read somewhere that HTN can actually be caused by excess of 11-Deoxycorticosterone (DOC) or 18-Hydroxy 11-Deoxycorticosterone (18OH-DOC) which are other mineralocorticoids. Did anybody heard of this before? Is this another rare cause of difficult HTN? Any comments are welcomed. t
