Guest guest
Hi Ya Toots What the latest with you - how are you - the nausea - low blood counts anemia - on procrit - rx working yet counts still going down - sides ??? All The Best Deb Once again, I'm talking about nausea...my single most complaint about treatment (well including anemia too). Here's the new "twists" Twist #1. I am now getting MORE nauseous when I drink water, etc!!!! Yikes, something I MUST do not to get more sides. Geez! I have managed to get all my water in, but it surely is uncomfortable. When I get nauseous from drinking, none of my "tricks" work...I just have to back off the water for a little while. Oh well...what's a girl to do? Twist #2. I found an additional ginger candy. They are made by the same "Ginger People" but also have Chewy Spicy Apple with the ginger. It works as well as the Crystalized Ginger and it's a nice change of pace. I get it at Whole Foods. Twist #3. The hep doc told me about another "trick." Be ready to pucker up though...it's sucking on lemons! I never dreamed I would hear that come from a doc's lips...much less a specialist in treating liver disease. I've only tried it once so far and so I'm still not sure about it. Actually, I'm not much of a fan of lemons...but hey, most anything beats the nausea. Regarding the anemia. My count didn't go up last week from the Procrit shot (even went down a little). So now I have to do the shots every 5 days instead of every 7. I sure hope this works. I retest on April 10th to see how it's going. Man, I sure don't want my tx meds to have to be decreased. Prayers accepted and encouraged :-) Blessings to all,
Guest guest
Deb ~~ Not a whole lot of change for me. Still dealing with daily nausea...sometimes just can't seem to shake it. It's frustrating how much it impacts my life. Aside from all the tricks, we are trying a different meducation (the 3rd one) of Compazine and I just got it so the jury is still out on it. They have me on Procrit 40,000 IU every 5 days now and I will have my 3rd one on Sunday at that frequency. Will retest for CBC and hemoglobin & RBC on Thursday 4/10. I'll let you guys know what they decide then...sure hope they don't have to reduce meds. Of course, I'm fatigued a lot and sleep very long hours, sometimes up to 12. Besides that, the only other real side effect I have is just developing -- a rash on my upper tummy area. It doesn't really both me...it's just there. Anyway, that's all the news for me. I'm looking forward to hearing from everybody and what's going on with them. Hope you are doing well Deb...it's nice to "see" you around lately! Blessings, Deb wrote: Hi Ya Toots What the latest with you - how are you - the nausea - low blood counts anemia - on procrit - rx working yet counts still going down - sides ???
