Guest guest
I agree, though not all of us have the option of another doctor. I know I didn't.. With my HMO, I didn't even have the option of changing GI's mid treatment, though have since moved on entirely, it took 2 years. However, we all do have the option of being our own advocate.. Sheena I don't need to even ask if it was a hepatologist or Gastro...only a Gastro would do something this dumb. You really need to get a Hepatologist. It would take allot more than low blood counts for my Doctors to take me off treatment. A bit bummed? Shoot I would be a raving lunatic after 11 weeks of distroying my body for nothing!> Hello everyone,> > I got my blood work done this week and my drs office called me and> told me to stop my riba pills and to not take my shot this week> because my blood counts are low. Guest guest
Oh Geez So sorry you guys! I forget that not everyone has a husband who was in the Union (Teamsters Local 671) We had never had a medical bill that we had to pay...no co-pay nothing only $30.00 a week was taken out of his pay for a family of 6. Now that he is retired he does not even have to pay that altho we do have small co-pays on medication and a $650.00 per year deductable. I can see and get as many opinions from any number of Doctors of my choosing. I have free Chiropractic, and acupuncture. I also have free alternative Doctor care but only up to 800.00 per year. My transplant will be covered 100% as well as after care. Reading these lists has made me realize how very, very lucky I am!! I don't need to even ask if it was a hepatologist or Gastro...only a Gastro would do something this dumb. Guest guest
well I'd call and DEMAND procrit be given long before he stops you from taking the riba,, you're too soon in the tx to be doing this especially if he wants you to clear.. what is his excuse for not giving you procrit?Jackie Subject: Re: Taken off meds week 11 of treatmentTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 4:08 AM My dr is a gastro doc. > > From: massgal08 <massgal08@. ..>> Subject: [Hepatitis_C_ Central] Taken off meds week 11 of treatment> To: Hepatitis_C_ Central@yahoogro ups.com> Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 4:34 PM> > > > > > > Hello everyone,> > I got my blood work done this week and my drs office called me and> told me to stop my riba pills and to not take my shot this week> because my blood counts are low. Guest guest
yes Photi it can be a 3 ring circus,, for sure... Jackie Subject: Re: Taken off meds week 11 of treatmentTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Wednesday, September 10, 2008, 1:21 PM Some of us are stuck in an area where there's only Gastros, and don't have the option of a Hepa without the expense and time of travel-- which some of us are limited on, as well. Some of us have to read like crazy, tell the same story to our Primary Care Doc and any other specialists that become necessary-- so far I've needed my PCP three times, chiropractor, massage therapist, yoga teacher, my eye doctor, and several outside labs-- all related to conditions of my TX. I have had to juggle them all, & balance it with what I've read and heard here and other places. Some are in even more difficult circumstance with getting their TX...It does help to be armed with the knowledge one gets here, but it's still a three ring circus act!Best,Photi>> I don't need to even ask if it was a hepatologist or Gastro...only a > Gastro would do something this dumb. Guest guest
Procrit is an injectable medication that boost's red blood cell production , and neupogen does the same for white blood cells Re: Taken off meds week 11 of treatment What is procrit? > > > > > > > I don't need to even ask if it was a hepatologist or Gastro...only a > Gastro would do something this dumb.
