Guest guest
I just had a one hr phone consult with endo from Radcliffe hospital in Oxford UK. I am a 45 yr old male. mid 20s early HTH, 32 put on anti-hypertensions, over 20 different one's, never had normal BP, always high. 2009 started investigations for PA. Now have LVH, chest pain from that. Both parents dead. Mom died from stroke and had triple bypass at young age. Dad had HTH and kidney issues, Alzheimer's. I was at a local hospital they did not know what to do next. I did research and found the best surgeon for PA at Radcliffe hospital got referred to this hospital late 2010. Some tests done at hospital A and some done at Radcliffe hospital. Calderdale Hospital (a) - 24 hr urine test has been completed in hospital A, do not have the results just letter stating in normal range. - aldo/renin completed in Halifax 1.6 renin, 905 aldo. - salt loading has not been completed. - CT scans at hospital A radiologist listed Left 9mm edema. Referred to Radcliffe hospital ( - - AVS April 2011 - Ratio 1, Right Adrenal - 5.77, Left Adrenal 6.51, cortisol to venacava (sp?) 4.92. - June 2011 in Oxford - 2.5 potassium, K too low to do another aldo/renin - the specialist radiologist at Oxford Radcliffe Hospital says no Left 9mm edema on scan. I have been told today: - Going to do " special " ct scan to see if 9mm edema. - plus 50% chance that the next AVS (my second) will be unsuccessful at Radcliffe Hospital. - Since I am on no meds but 3600k per day am getting renin/aldo and k blood tests this week. - Then back on Eplerone. - See if Eplerone works. - Then 2nd AVS and " special " scan booked in the next couple months.
