Guest guest
Good news for those who are pregnant and diagnosed with cancer – they actually do better with treatment than if they were not pregnant! – without apparent effect on fetus – and no differences in outcomes up to 21 years of age. See link to today’s LA Times: Study shows promising outcomes for pregnant breast cancer patients U.S. researchers found that about 74% of pregnant breast cancer patients survived five years after cancer diagnosis compared to about 56% of those who were not pregnant upon diagnosis. The findings depart from the current belief that pregnancy poses additional risks to women diagnosed with the disease. Los Angeles Times/Booster Shots blog (9/30) J.
