Guest guest
I'm really not qualified to answer your post. However, I would strongly recommend finding an Endocrinology clinic that can do a complete work up and diagnostic process. I personally went to both Mayo Clinic and Washington University. Mayo is very efficient and can schedule many appointments at once. What does your primary care doctor tell you about the low BP & heart rate? Have you been referred to an Endocrinologist? > > I suspect I have low aldosterone may an issue and heard this was a very good group in learning of aldosterone. > > After the birth of my twins 3.5 years ago, I have episodes where my BP drops to 60/20 and I get very dizzy and sometimes faint. My heart rate drops as well sometimes into the low 30s. I've read with aldosterone it's usually high HR. Is this always the case or can it sometimes be very low? I'm very sick when this happens and salt/fluid loading does help. I was diagnosed with fibro. I'm hypothyroid and been on Levo for 17ish years. I'm 38 years old. I take 37.5 levothyroxine and 1000 mgs of metformin (Insulin resistance). > > Any help/info is hugely appreciated! Guest guest
Hi !Thanks for responding. I was referred to an elecrophysiologist. The first one wanted to put a pace maker in. I sought a second opinion and he had me salt/fluid load and diagnosed vasovagel syncope. Other then that nothing is said about it. I'm seeking a good endo. I'm close to los angeles so it shouldn't be too hard, but I don't know anyone with thyro problems who's endo will help them when TSH is a at a 3! I have great insurance so most anyone is covered. My primary is happy to order me any labs I ask her to though. I just need to know what those are. Thanks again,AshleeSent via BlackBerry from T-MobileSender: hyperaldosteronism Date: Mon, 05 Sep 2011 18:11:29 -0000To: <hyperaldosteronism >ReplyTo: hyperaldosteronism Subject: Re: I suspect low aldosterone I'm really not qualified to answer your post. Guest guest
More s. Look at addisons sites for starters and maybe synch up some symptoms. Hopefully your heart's been completely worked up for an abnormal ryhthm or similar before they look anywhere else. Guest guest
Thanks !Yes. I should have mentioned that I've had 3 heart work ups in the last 5 years and everything looks "a ok" there. I will look at more addison's. I actually requested a lab for testing addisons so it will be in my next round of tests. I feel better when I take salt. Do you know if addison's responds to salt loading? Thanks again!AshleeSent via BlackBerry from T-MobileSender: hyperaldosteronism Date: Mon, 5 Sep 2011 11:36:21 -0700 (PDT)To: <hyperaldosteronism >ReplyTo: hyperaldosteronism Subject: Re: Re: I suspect low aldosterone More s. Guest guest
While they - not me really yet - on this site are more expert in the hyperaldosteronism the best advice we can give anyone because most of us have been through hell with our illnesses, is that keep pushing. The internet can be your best friend or worst enemy sometimes, but don't let them shut you up or brush it off. Sounds like you may have a decent doc I hope. Check this out. Maybe it fits. Guest guest
Let me emphasize what I believe everyone on this group would say, that is, we might not even be alive today if we had not realized that we and only we are responsible for our health and well being. We research, we posit questions, we stay actively involved in our own treatment, and sometimes we find ourselves having to go 'doctor shopping.' Keep researching, keep asking questions, keep at it and soon you will have an understanding of your own condition. You will learn what to avoid and most of all you will develop a healthy 'BS detector!', so necessary in dealing with some modern practitioners  of the healing arts. Guest guest
Hi Clarence, I left town and I'm back now. About Sheehan's Syndrome, I'm very fair skinned so when I saw the blotchy appearance of my skin I just assigned it as Pregnancy Mask until your question. It's still tough to tell, but I think my skin patches are lighter rather then darker as I had initially expressed. I've solicited second and third opinions and all feel it's difficult to know for sure (i'm very very fair), but all feel it's lighter. That said, I have had no difficulties with milk coming in after any of my pregnancies. Does that mean it can't be Sheehan's? My first pregnancy was a multiple (twin) pregnancy with a C-section. I mention this because I saw there is an increased incidence in Multiple pregnencies, but I can't tell if that only applies to more blood loss in a vaginal delivery? Thanks! Guest guest
Thanks! I will have to check that out in the files. Yes, and they are great experiments and really interesting to watch develop and become independent of each other. So fun!
