Guest guest
Amy, I'm so sorry for your horrible week, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. My Birthday is on sunday and monday you'll never guess where my husband and I are going?..............................(To the court house to file for " DIVORCE " ) I am toflipped out I will end up having to go home to Virginia with my kids to live with my folks so I can find a decent job and a place to live and to topo that off " I FEEL OLD " going on 27 but feeling like I am 57. Things here have been crazy and I haven't been doing my TB either. I also and having a major hamstring problem and have a dr. appt. tomarrow. I finally got my car back that my so grateful husband wrecked in june just before the picnic and I had to take it back last monday so the could re work the entire car and fix the damages that they inflicted while it was at the body shop. And to top it all off my husbands car was sent to the scrap yard because if completely died. I guess " when it rains it pours " I keep asking my self, " What Next? " so please feel better and Happy birthday. (aka amazonchic)
Guest guest
Amy- I am sorry you are having such a tough time. I have weeks like that too. Try to remember that it will pass. Life won't be this stressful all the time. Try to get through it best you can. If you only have time to do 5 minutes of Tae-Bo, then do five minutes and be proud. Don't beat yourself up about it How much longer do you have in school? Things will calm down, I promise!! Hang in there!! Happy Birthday!!! -Happy Birthday to you too. I am sorry that you are having a tough time also. I can't imagine how hard it must be to go through a divorce. Let me know if you need to talk! Hang in there! Guest guest
Amy, first of all, breath second of all, try to think how you can cut down some of the stress stop trying to do it all and perfectly attitude is everything and if you see your glass half empty instead of half full, you are setting yourself up for failure maybe you best set your sights lower on the webpage and add in more stuff in the future at your leisure maybe you best toss in the towel for this class & take it as a loss maybe you should take the Toyota dealer to small claims court if they do not correct the work to your satisfaction (don't pay them either and document everything) getting upset by hair highlights will seem so silly to you in the future, especially when those highlights are more gray Barb who knows life can be very hectic and has learned to not try to do everything
Guest guest
Ok Amy, I'm here to collect my medal. Just kidding. If you dont absolutely need to go to the doctors appointment can you move it back a few weeks? What kind of highlights? Blonde? I have been paying too much money (I wont admit how much) for mine only to come out looking like big bird at every salon I have tried. I tried an at home highlighting kit and loved it, I tried Lemon Juice and Vodka and loved it even more. Sometimes doing your hair yourself is more convenient, cheaper, gives you the feeling of being pampered not having to make ANOTHER appointment etc. and if hey are blonde highlighs they arent that risky. Just dont keep it on very long ....if its not enough you can do it again. As far as finding the time to Taebo, worry about sleep right now more. If you exercise when you are over tired you are very likely to injure yourself. October is a ways of and you dont just loose cardiovascular endurance overnight. Besides October is suppose to be a vacation not a stress fest. Beleive me I had to tell myself the same thing when I was over-training. This is a life long commitment not a one date goal. How long does your class last for? Btw. ABOUT the sleep hangover. Try taking the Xanax earlier in the evening, make sure you have had a good dinner drink water before bed and when you get up in the morning drink several glasses of water, get your vitamins and eat breakfast. I bet you just have a bit too much of the drug in your system when you wake up. It will get beter hang in there and look for ways to clear your schedule for you-time not oh I got another thing to do and add to the list time. In a message dated Thu, 10 Aug 2000 8:47:16 AM Eastern Daylight Time, " Amy N " writes: << well I just need to vent a small bit. I don't normally do this, because I hate to be off topic, and I hate to hang out my 'dirty laundry' so to speak or I just really hate to bring others down. well this isn't really a terrible thing, I just need to get out some of the stresses of this week. So you all know that I've resolved to do Tae Bo more in prep for the L.A. trip. My first frustration this week is that I have had SOMETHING to do every night of the week, almost immediately after I return from work. SO I haven't been able to Tae Bo since Sunday!!! It's driving me insane. The other thing is - I talked briefly about my sleeping problems and the fact that I didn't know why I wa shaving them. Now I do, it is severe stress and self inflicted anxiety. It got so annoying that I made a doctor's appointment monday night to see what they could do to help me. The 'best' part of all of this is, monday night is a school night - and the only appointment available was at 6:30, when school started. So I decided to take it and be late for class (stressful in of itself). I rushed around after work, leaving early even - came home ate some quick dinner, and ran off to the doctors. Got in, was told it's stress, and anxiety because I keep thinking about how I will not sleep, which makes it harder for me TO sleep. She gave me xanax, told me to take it every night for a week, and then I should be back to normal. I have, and it works. So I ran to drop off my prescrip. to the store on my way up to school, get to school 45 minutes late, and guess what, my teacher got hung up somewhere and NEVER showed up!!! So i rushed all around for NOTHING and then I get to class and NO CLASS! I paid 300 bucks for 5 nights of this class, and there's one down the drain.... Tuesday I was so tired because the xanax gave me a hangover, my body fought it the first night and I felt overtired tues. Made it to work, but felt useless all day. Came home, felt like doing nothing... too tired to do anything. Then yesterday was the kicker. I had gone through all this hell to get my husband's car to the dealership early yesterday morning, to have it detailed as a surprise to him. he is IN LOVE with this old car, it's his baby. I took it to his most trusted place, the Toyota dealership to have it done figuring I can't go wrong here. Well my husband was ALL excited after work, when I told him where he had to take me and what I had done. They drove his car around, and they COMPLETELY RUINED the paint job on the front end of the car, and BUFFED a horrible circle into his VERY EXPENSIVE wheel covers!!!! My god... what a great birthday present! I felt like a complete piece of $hit. Not to mention that the dealership said they couldn't do anything about it until the guy who did the work came in the next day. And to top it off, I had SCHOOL again tonight, and I was LATE yet again, had about 2 minutes to shove in pizza, then got to school half hour late... I figured, well I've missed one class thanks to the teacher, half hour of tonight thanks to me, and I have 3 more left. THEN I was signing the SIGN in sheet for class, and I noticed that everyone else had signed in THREE time, and I had only 2 including tonight. I asked why, and was informed that classs had started LAST WEDNESDAY and I MISSED IT!!! I didn't even know, I read the schedule wrong... I could swear it said monday, but teacher said the rest of the class showed up... MY GOD I've missed half the class! If I don't pass it, I don't get reimbursed. Sheesh guys, I'm so sorry. And to top this all off, I'm supposed to have my highlights redone tonight before I leave saturday for a wedding. My bro's girlfriend (it's her friend who's doing it) called me at 10:30 last night and WOKE ME UP out of a dead sleep, only to tell me that the hairdresser's mom found out she has cancer, and the gal might have to fly down to se eher if they do an emergency removal of the tumor... which means, NO HAIR APPOINTMENT FOR AMY! (i am not at all belittling the gal's problems, I don't blame her one bit). GREAT! On my birthday, NO hair apointment... no one that can fit me in this last minute. So my bro's gf says she thinks her other hairdresser can do it, but she charges TWICE as much!!! ARGHHH!!!! Then my doctor's appointment for tomorrow called around 8 to tell me my Doctor has a meeting and may not be out in time to see me (female doctor) but they are going to 'chance it' and let me keep my apopintment. CAN ANYTHING ELSE GO WRONG?? CAN IT??? IF IT DOES CAN IT DO IT NOW?? PLEASE????? I have never in all my life had such a horrible week, and a horrible birthday much less the fact that I can't find 2 minutes to Tae Bo!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am SO SO SO sorry this is so long, it felt really good to just type it out. PLEASE don't feel like you have to give me some long winded reply, I know this week will end soon. Just let me get thru it gals and guys!!! Let me get my Tae Bo back... I need it! If you made it thru this whole post let me give you a HUGE MEDAL! Amy As Deb has said: " Fitness is a journey and it begins with the first step. Guest guest
Thanks , Happy early birthday to you, and you know, 27 isn't old, and neither is 28 really!! I definetly feel like my problems are much smaller compared to what you must be going through. I'm sure you are going to be fine, and I know it must be terribly hard to be going through this. Just remember - this list is here, they have given me a lot of comfort in the short time i've been posting - related to Tae bo, and even not related to Tae Bo. Thanks for your concern, and take the same advice you gave me! Amy

Guest guest
Amy & , I'm so, so sorry for the stressful weeks you're having. I realize how everything all at once can be so overwhelming. It's times like this that you need to put on the breaks and focus on the things need your attention at this moment. All the little things can wait. As humans we are only able to handle so many things at a time. If we try to do more than that, we run into trouble. Hang in there and take things one minute at a time!!! Take a deep breathe and take a cold drink of water and then start over again. Ann Marie - who hopes you both can salvage a somewhat happy birthday! Guest guest
Amy, I was " thumbing " thru the posts here, thinking of how to respond to your vent, when I came across Barb's response. All I can say is: she said it (almost) all...I couldn't have said it better. The only thing I'd add is: 1) perhaps you'd do better taking 1/2 a xanax each nite. ;-) F who believes that it ain't worth sweating the small stuff! Guest guest
> Barb > who knows life can be very hectic and has learned to not try to do everything Thanks barb, your advice is all good. I think things are gettin better already. The car dealership has offered to replace all 4 wheels, and fix the bumper - they also refunded my 100 bucks for the detailing, and are giving me a free rental for the days they need the car to work on it! I got profuse apologies and they admitted that it was obviously their fault (DUH) and they apologized for ruining hubby's birthday present... I talked to the teach this morning, she has told me she will still pass me because I have worked so hard on my page, and that I seem to still be ahead of her lesson plans anyways. She is very easy going.. and she understands that I made an honest mistake, it wans't like I didn't want to show up for class or something! Also I know the hair doesn't seem like much at all, but I've relaly been looking forward to gettin it done! My bro's gf was able to arrange another appointment for me with her other hairdresser, it will cost more, but what ever! I don't care at this point, beggers can't be choosers! Thanks everyone, the day is looking up and the flood of ecards from friends and family is cheering me up! Thanks barb - your last comment about the gray hair cracks me up. And, by the way, I have at least 4 I've found in the past month... oh, they are VERY gray! LOL. Amy

I think my problem of feeling groggy that first day after the xanax was because I took it so late at night. The doc told me to take 1/2 pill each half hour till I fell asleep. Well that wasn't till 1 am that morning, I started taking them aroudnm 11 - I took them too late, not realizing they would need about a half hour-hour to work. She told me to take 2 this time, but to take them around 9. I have been doing that, and I have no grogginess in the morning. I feel refreshed and awake and HAPPY when I get up now. I fall asleep usually by 10, or 10:30 with the xanax. The pills are only .25 milligrams each... so according to the doc htat's a very small dose. I don't want to get addicted, so I'm cutting back to one tonight to see how that does. If it doesn't work in an hour, I'll take the other. Doc told me to work it that way. Take the minimal now that I've had 2 good nights rest... and go from there... I only have enough to last thru monday, and then I'm sure I'll be find. I already worry less than half about it than I did before! Amy who thinks barb and susan and everyone else's advice has all been great! and of course thanks them all for it... Glad things are looking better today. I know exactly what it feels like to have weeks like that, were nothing goes right... nothing!!! The best advice I can give you is sit down and breathe calmly... Then write down everything that can be fixed, and how you can fix it... start with the easiest thing to fix, and move up from there. BTW, happy bday (I actually don't even know if your bday is today or yesterday!!!) How old are you ?? (By the end of your post I was stressed too, LOL) You have had a heck of a week, no doubt...and things only get worse when you are sleep deprived. I think sleep is more important than food! I get the same kind of reaction from sleeping/anxiety pills. But it is important for you to get a sleep pattern back...maybe if you only took a half of one it would work? And of course...the best de-stresser is exercise. I hope you figure out a way to get it in. This too shall pass...
