Guest guest
I haven't written in a while, but wanted to know if anyone has had a set back like I had "after taking a cast off." My son Caden started out at 54 degrees and after the cast was put on, it was down to 18. We removed the cast, and the curve went back up to 30. The second cast the curve now went from 30 down to 11 or 12 (can't remember which #). After removal of the 2nd cast, the curve went back up to 35. Third cast, (which was synthetic), curve went from 35 down to 10. Cast had to be removed a week early because it got really small. After removing the cast, the rotation of his rib cage looked wonderful. The rib cages looked perfectly aligned. But...the curve went up to 45. Now in the fourth cast which was put on in mid August, the curve went from 45 down to 8!!! This cast however, is the regular plaster cast. Dr. R in Rochester didn't want to put the synthetic back on him. (don't ask me why...I don't really know). Can anyone see my frustration here!! I have great accomplishments with the cast on, but when it comes off, it goes right back like a rubber band. If anyone has a similar problem let me know and what does your Dr. say?
