Guest guest
I can spot a woman with hyperinsulin: 1.They usually have excess weight around her waist even if they are slim other places. 2. They have menstrual problems and getting pregnant problems 3. They have darker colored necks and darker colored elbows 4. They have a lot of skin tags 5. Can't consume excess carbohydrates without gaining weight 6. They have 'narrower' hips 7. They have glucose regulation problems either too high or too low 8. They have a 'buffalo hump' on their neck 9 They have brown, velvet patches on there skin called Acanthosis Nigricans 10, Hyper insulin/ PCOS/ heart disease and diabetes goes together 11. They tend to have 'manly' shapes cause of the excess testosterone secondary to the excess insulin 12. Hair on the face Interestingly I had a friend that went on Spiro and not only did it make her get cycles regular, the hair stopped growing on her face her body became more feminine. So is aldosterone playing a role in this too? The chicken or the egg? This is so common and all doctors should be aware. The only treatment is exercise, lose weight and low carb diet. Phyllis  Hyperinsulinemia for some reason. Happens in alot of people. Probably more than we know, but we don't check insulin. We can, we just don't even when people like you report an issue. Our pancreas is a gland if it can slow down it can also speed up and over produce Sent from my Palm Pre on the Now Network from Sprint On Nov 6, 2011 8:35 AM, msmith_1928 wrote:  There's hypoglycemia, and then there's normal hunger. Mine would happen *after* I'd eaten, usually within 40 minutes or so. Definitely not normal - but if you haven't eaten in a long time and you get the shaky feeling, I think it's normal. But if you've eaten recently - within the last few hours - and it comes on, especially with those ravenous feelings, it's my experience that something else is wrong. Since my fructose- and gluten-intolerance diagnoses (and elimination of those foods) and eating higher protein/lower carb, the "ravenous" attacks have almost completely gone unless it's been maybe 6 or 8 hours since I last ate. > >
Guest guest
Phyllis, you just described me! 1.They usually have excess weight around her waist even if they are slim other places. 2. They have menstrual problems and getting pregnant problems 3. They have darker colored necks and darker colored elbows 4. They have a lot of skin tags 5. Can't consume excess carbohydrates without gaining weight 6. They have 'narrower' hips 7. They have glucose regulation problems either too high or too low Not this one: 8. They have a 'buffalo hump' on their neck Not this one: 9 They have brown, velvet patches on there skin called Acanthosis Nigricans Not this one: 10, Hyper insulin/ PCOS/ heart disease and diabetes goes together 11. They tend to have 'manly' shapes cause of the excess testosterone secondary to the excess insulin 12. Hair on the faceAn early (mis)diagnosis for me was PCOS; however, the usual treatment - spiro, metformin, or a combo of the two - failed to do much of anything. So is aldosterone playing a role in this too? The chicken or the egg? It's going to be interesting for me to find out now that the excess aldo is gone. > > >> > >> >>
