Guest guest Posted June 21, 2008 Report Share Posted June 21, 2008 I had my follow up appointment for finishing tx this week. They did a new viral load but didn't have the results back yet. My red blood count is still low so I still have to use the Procrit this week and retest then we'll see. They said that by not being on tx will help it to go back up on its own too. When I asked how long it took to get the meds out of your system, they said 2 month for the interferon, and 6 months for the ribavirin. That's a little longer than I thought it might take. They told me to still avoid prolonged exposure to the sun for 6 months since it's still in your system. Also, they said that I don't need to drink the gallon of water a day but a lot of water would be good just for general health purposes.
