THREATENED BY FEDERAL AGENCY_* CMS*, the federal agency that oversees the Medical Assistance program, has proposed regulations that could have serious impact upon necessary medical services ( " wraparound " ) in Pennsylvania for children and adolescents with special needs. Many will remember how hard the autism community fought in 2001 to preserve and protect wraparound medical services for our children! Your comments are needed now to help ensure continued wraparound services for our children. Comments must be received by CMS* by *Friday, October 12, 2007at 5PM*. Please find attached a brief letter you may submit. Below are the ways to submit it: (*)(Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) 1. Electronically: Submit comments in MS Word, WordPerfect, or Excel electronically at http://www.cms.hhs.gov/eRulemaking <http://www.cms.hhs.gov/eRulemaking/t_blank>. If delivering to the Washington, DC address, comments may be dropped off at: Room 445-G, Hubert H. Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC. Because security is restricted in the Hubert Humphrey Building, individuals are encouraged to leave comments in the CMS drop slots located in the main lobby. *NOTE*: However you choose to do it, mail a copy to your U.S. Senator and to your U.S.House Representative. The combined effort of the Pennsylvania autism community successfully protected necessary medical services (wraparound) six years ago. Together we can do it again. */We must./* *//* ------------------------------------------------------------------------
