Guest guest
Hi, I am not sure if I mentioned before that I am a journalist. I was notified earlier this week I will be granted an interview with , On the phone or face to face, if I can make it to the west coast or the next place will have an appearence in. He will not get to the East coast anywhere in the next future, they said. Well - Here's the thing. I don't want to " waste " the opportunity to talk to the man himself for an hour or so on a phone conversation. I feel this is a great way for me to inform larger circles about Tae-bo and contribute this knowledge to ppl's lives. No less, I feel this is a huge opportunity for me to gain some knowledge and inpiration for myself in my journey to better my life. And the question: Should I wait a couple of months with the Interview and see if I manage to get to the WTC, or should I just go for the phone conversation? I ask this because I know quite a few of you has talked to both f2f and on the phone. Is there a huge difference? I am really torn over this One thought I have is to try to find some real good OTHER excuse to go to the Valley (I usualy write about Hi-tech and business) and then just find half a day to go to the WTC. When we get to the point of the actual interview, I'd love to hear what you would ask I read a lot of the articles about and they all repeat themselves. I want to bring something beyond the obvious in this story (Which will be written in Hebrew but I promise to translate it for everyone here ) Thanks, R

OF course, being one of the people GOING to the WTC, you can guess what my recommendation is... But of course, it's really a matter of what works best for you... I don't know, having only had TALKED to on the phone - my 2 cents would be, if he can touch me THAT significantly over the phone, I can only IMAGINE how he will touch me in person! It has to be a world of difference looking into his eyes vs. listening to him over the phone.... BUT EITHER would be awesome, and I would LOVE to read the article when translated. As far as questions... I think I'd like to hear more about the 'inner' part of Tae Bo. So many people who do interviews are focused mainly on " how did you brign about tae bo " " what is tae bo " " who can do tae bo " . Maybe (and I know your religion and 's are different) you might focus more on the spiritual parts of Tae Bo too. I know sometimes the western aspects of Tae Bo (Tae Chi influences) can conflict with eastern religious beliefs, but I also see so many similarities in what and Tae Bo teaches us with many diverse religions in this country - Judaism (sp?), Christianity, etc etc. So maybe you can focus a question or 2 on that... HOpe this helps! AMy
Guest guest
I might add, that the face to face interview is a GREAT excuse for you to come to the WTC with us in October! (as if you need an excuse to meet or go to WTC!!!) LOL Would be nice to meet a new face too. Perhaps I'll have to learn to read some Hebrew for this article. I always find that you lose some things in the translation... that would be quite an undertaking, learning a whole new dialect just for an article with !! LOL Amy

My recommendation would be to do the interview face to face, if at all possible! Hey, is there any way you could possibly join us for our get together in October? That would be awesome....that way we could meet you, too There is something about being in the same room with .....it's really magical and I just think you would get much more out of the interview if you were able to sit in a room with him. Who he is as a person is a big reason tae-bo is as big as it is...because he is genuine and sincere and you really can see that when he is talking to you! I'm sure you get that when talking to him on the phone as well, but in person it's just amazing! Either way, it's an incredible opportunity for you! Congratulations I can't wait to read the article (after you translate it, of course...LOL)!
Guest guest
Roni, Why don't you coordinate a face-to-face interview with this group's October Tae Bo Fest? Between now and then, we can put our heads together and come up with all sorts of interesting and different questions. You could cover AND how he has affected the lives of the people you meet from our group in LA. Whattayathink? ;-) F > Hi, > > I am not sure if I mentioned before that I am a journalist. Guest guest
Roni, This is just my OPINION, but I think it would be beneficial to go to the Valley, see the WTC, look around and get a feel of it. You might want to speak with other people there, and THEN interview . You will have a better understanding of the big picture and will understand the spirit of what he has done and is doing and when you interview , it will be already with a frame-of-reference of what he is involved in. What publication do you write for? ------- Talia Adar Jerusalem Post Tel: (02) 531-5639 Fax: (02) 538-8408 > > Reply-To: tae-bo_onegroups > Date: Sun, 6 Aug 2000 18:52:48 -0400 > To: <tae-bo_onegroups> > Subject: I got an interview with - can you guys consult me? > > Hi, > > I am not sure if I mentioned before that I am a journalist. But please don't put your life on hold until you are " in shape " . I can't tell you how many years I wasted sitting in my house, not trying anything new, because I thought I was too fat. Wasted time is lost time. You can never get it back. I really was not going to go out to LA last February for the tapings of Tae-Bo TV for those kinds of reasons. I thought I wasn't in good enough shape and that I need to lose weight first. Something inside of me said to just go! And I had an awesome time!! Meeting was incredible! Guest guest
Amy and , What an amazing idea, I wish I could (( I have a 1 yo at home and not enough money in the bank I think.... AND these are all just excuses. I just don't feel ready to face this taebo paralel usiverse. On the net I am protected because no one can see that with all that talk, I still look closer to how I looked when I started a little over a month ago then what I hope to look like eventually. I know this eventually is in 6 months to a year, so it makes sense, but it is hard. I also know it doesn't matter to anyone, but it does matter to me. I think one of the reasons I am making it this time, and stuck with the exercise this long, is because I am so isolated. all my friends and family are half way around the globe and that gives me the energy to focus and the inside, and not hang on to feedbacks from the outside. I still miss feedbacks. my husband tells me he can see slight differences, but I tend to become so happy when I hear good things I immediately stop working. So this time I will keep myself isolated I think till the time is right. and that is not when I am thin, it is when I feel I am into it for life, and no amount of words, no matter who says them, can divert me from my course. I hope this makes sense and I do want to meet you guys so much... I know someday I will! I STILL sometimes look in the mirror and don't 'see' the changes, or feel like I am ready to stand in front of Blanks, or other Tae Bo people.. But at the same time I think that I personally am ready to do that. Of course like you said, each of us will be ready in our own time, and that's what's important. BUT PLEASE don't feel that you couldn't come to a group like ours, or in front of and think that anyone would possibly ONLY see your outside, and NOT see your inside! I have been told that can see right in you, and I know that many of us having learned a lot of what he teaches in regards to the inside can easily do the same! Don't hold back if all that is holding you back is the fact that you think you haven't had enough outside changes to be ready for this. I'm sure that's not your main reasons, but I just don't want you to feel like I did about a year ago, that i was petrified to enjoy any of the public aspects of Tae Bo because I didn't feel my outsides measured up! And I can totally understand not wanting to leave a young baby!!! Just remember, when the time is right, you will go! Of course if you set a face-to-face date with , you will have one heck of a goal to work for! That's some real motivation to keep on keepin' on isn't it? I'm sure with all the Tae Bo Fan-atics here, there will be other conventions. I for one, hope that I'll be able to swing going again. I'm sure this one will be so much fun, despite all my fears of things physical and mental... AND the fact that I've never worked out wearing SHOES before.... Might be a possibility of catching up with you for a bit (of course if you want only) and then again I know how HUGE manhattan is... we generally end up all over though, from about 100 street down to the statue of liberty. Walking, taking cabs, we get around pretty well when in town! LOl. Love NY, don't think I could live in Manhattan, I guess I'm just too much of a farm girl, but I like to visit! Roni, Well, I can totally relate to how you feel....I used to say the exact same things. The thing is you are in this for life...as long as you keep telling yourself that! You have already begun that journey! You have to give youself a break....you've only been doing this for a month! The physical changes may not have started happening just yet (or may not be happening as quickly as you'd like them to), but the inside changes have definitely started happening! Things like feeling better about yourself, inner confidence, knowing that you are doing something wonderful for yourself, a sense of peace that this is something you can and will do for the rest of your life, etc. You may feel only some of these things right now, but as you progress along your journey....you will start feeling more of them and as you do, you will realize that those changes are what make tae-bo different. And those changes are the ones that mean the most! Believe me, when you meet ......he won't care if you still have 20lbs to lose or if you are the most super fit individual he has ever seen! He doesn't look at you from the outside. It's hard for us to comprehend that fact, but it's absolutely true! He sees your spirit and if you ever take one of his classed you will understand what I mean. I know you feel like you aren't ready yet and I totally get that. I just hate to hear you say you are going to isolate yourself until you " know " you are in this for life. The fact is you never realy " know " that. I mean.....I say " yes, I am in this for life....I will keep doing tae-bo forever " ...I believe that with all my heart, but I don't " know " it. Something could come up in my life and I could totally fall off track. I hope that never happens, but it is a possibility and the best I can do is just take it one day at a time....each day believing that I am in this for the long haul. Before you know it, a year or two will have passed and this way of life will have become more of a habit for you. And you will be more confident in the fact that you can handle any detour that life may throw you (and believe me there will be many detours.....lol)! I hope this is making sense! I just don't want you to put your life on hold until you get to where you want to be. The beauty of the journey is precisely that it is a journey and each and every step we take can teach us something about ourselves. I am sure that we will have another tae-bo get together and hopefully you can join us next time who left Skylar for the first time back in February when we went to the tapings (and she was a little over a year) and it was easier leaving her when the reason was to go to the WTC to workout with ....lol! Guest guest
Amy, Thank you so much for this post! so much truth in it. I do feel the inner change, and I know you guys would be able to see it. I think the world sees it too. I haven't lost much of anything and guys started hitting on me in the street lately. I know when the time is right I will pick my baby and go. they have child care in the WTC. you are also right about the option of meeting making me stronger in my mission to achieve goals, to look better and feel better. And about the shoes: I didn't wear shoes much from the day I was born till I was 7 years old, and untill joining the army at 18 I think I had shoes on less then 50% of waking hours. I LOVE exercising barefoot (or with socks later, because of the terrible carpet in my appt.). I tried Taeboing with shoes. it's heavy! it was even harder for me to kick )) And I think says in the book that also exercises without shoes, so maybe they won't mind if you do it too? Thanks again Amy. from the bottom of my heart. R ----- Original Message ----- > Roni - > > I totally understand what you are saying about not feeling ready. Guest guest
hugs back at you . I wanted to ask though: when are the next tapings? and you keep talking about that QVC tapings - when and where are those? I thought that maybe it'll be an added bonus to do the interview between taping sessions, and maybe it'll give me a boost in trying to get in shape for it Wasn't the tapings hard on you, if you weren't in much of a shape back then? Guest guest
Roni If you get chance to do tapings, or something similar do go, you'll be amazed at what you can do. I attend a Jazzercise (dance fitness) weekend every year and last march did 5 (or 6) classes on the Saturday, 3 on Sunday - the atmosphere was brilliant and has a huge impact on everyone there - I can only imagine and wait to experience it for real with TaeBo! Guest guest
I was born and lived in Manhattan for 28 years. It wasn't until I had lived in New Orleans for a year and returned to NYC for a vacation that I realized that I had spent those 28 years in a state of anxiety. The energy and the pace of Manhattan is so frantic. I love to vist...I do, I get my jolt of the City, feel like I've been adequately electrocuted, and then head back to the Big Easy (N'awlins). LOL ;-) F > > > I think I might just do that. > > > > > > As I said, now's a little early to hit the WTC for me, but maybe I > > can ask > > > them to schedule it for the winter. would be nice to get away from > > NY then > > > > > > I write for Ynet, Yedioth's online version.... > > > > > > Will you be stopping in NY when you get here? They are usually in November sometime. I'll let you know when I get a date... Amy
