The book contains more than 1,000 photos from youth activists that demonstrate their support for birth control coverage.Dear Hanna-In the past few weeks, politicians at all levels have engaged in an all-out assault on birth control. But young people across the country are fighting back — and their voices and activism are gaining momentum.In the past two weeks, students from across the country have stepped up to lead a grassroots movement to demand that Congress stop attacking contraception and protect access to basic health care — including birth control. Mobilizing on and around Valentine's Day, young activists collected more than 1,000 photos of " Dear Congress Valentines, " reminding politicians that young people are watching and holding them accountable. Along with our partner organizations, more than 30,000 people have added their voices to protect birth control access by sending petitions and contacting their elected officials.Yesterday, we delivered an album of the Valentine photos directly to Congressional leaders. House Minority Leader Pelosi, Representative Carolyn Maloney, and Representative Elijah Cummings were excited to receive these messages from young people who are passionate about ensuring access to birth control.On behalf of Advocates' staff, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make this project such an incredible success.
