Good point, Janick! :-) weight management sounds so much more positive. makes perfect sense to me too! I still don't know how to eat > right, I'm still not eating right or enough. > I'm just frustrated with the whole thing. I mean, I'm > not stupid, I know that my eating habits are effecting > my energy or lack thereof. Judie, This was the " thought for the day " from yesterday and it came to mind when I read your message, so I thought I'd share it with you " If you find yourself not " feeling " very motivated to start making your health a priority (join the club)......... What works for me is doing at least ONE thing that I can feel good about. Concentrate on WHAT I DID RIGHT TODAY and don't worry about anything else except being able to list ONE thing. ONE CHOICE you can feel good about. No 'but' or " only " in the statement just state it and be proud. For example. I drank one glass of water today! NOT: I " only " drank 1 glass of water today I " should " have drank 8 See the difference? Baby Steps. If I wanted to get myself good and depressed all I'd have to do is sit around and compare myself to lots of other people. I could sit and look around and notice I'm one of the fattest people at my office, one of the least smart, the list could go on and on and on, but where does that get us? ............usually in the kitchen. So, I've learned (the hard way) to stop the baseball beat up sessions as quickly as possible. My best advice is don't sit around and wait till you " feel like it " cuz let me tell ya I'd STILL be waiting. As long as I stick to being able to think of ONE thing I did " right " today I know I'm on the right track and tomorrow I'll be able to list two things. " I really like this idea. I've had a bad two days with my eating. I've been indulging in donuts (of all things)....for some reason I bought donuts two nights ago thinking that Bob would eat them, but I was unable to resist...lol...and then last night when we went by the krispy kreme, the " fresh, hot, now " sign was lit and Jami (bob's daughter) has never had a fresh, hot, now donut from krispy kreme so we bought a dozen and I proceeded to eat a few of those, too! Needless to say, I'm feeling it today! Which is a good thing cause I definitely am not craving those donuts anymore....lol! My point is, I could focus on the fact that I ate way too many donuts those 2 days, or I can focus on what I did right....which was still get my exercise in! Even yesterday, when I didn't get to the gym in the morning, I still managed to get myself to go in the afternoon! That's a big accomplishment for me! So, you see....just pick one thing you did right today! Like Tawni said in her message, it might just be " hey, I drank one glass of water today " ....but don't say " I only drank one glass of water when I should be drinking 8 " or " I only did 10 minutes of tae-bo when I should be doing 30 minutes " ...you know? Concentrate on what you DID do and BE PROUD You'll get there...it's a never ending journey. We all have " off " days, but as long as we don't ever quit.....we are successful Hang in there, Judie! Guest guest
Thanks Amy! I guess I forgot about " batch cooking. " When I saw a nutrionist years ago, that was one of his most helpful tips. I think it will the only thing to save me. If I can't take something out of the freezer and throw it into the micro during the week, it's too much trouble. I'll usually end up eating something bad or not at all. On the weekends I'll take more time but if it's not quick, I'll just skip a meal rather than take the time. Well, I guess it's off to get lots of Ziplock freezer baggies to make my homemade TV dinners! Thanks again. This is getting me kind of geared up to give this another try. I usually set aside a day every month where I cook double, triple or even quadruple batches of the foods we love. I usually make something either really quick on weekdays, or zap something in the microwave. On weekends, we make more elaborate meals... If you ever need any advice on how to freeze meals (because different kinds of foods require different freezing methods), you can email me privately. Guest guest
That's exactly it! I've only managed to lose the weight once and I gained about 1/2 of the loss back which I guess is pretty lucky considering the unhealthy method I used to lose it. I really should have gained it all back and I guess I would have if I hadn't been weight training consistently. I think more important is what you said about where your mind is. During that time my mind wasn't obsessed with losing weight for once. I was distracted from the constant self consciousness and depression over my weight and I was just living and being active and that was when I was able to lose. I had to stop caring to be able to make a change. Judie --- Ann Marie wrote: > The sad thing about this whole situation is that > I've been losing the > same weight over and over through the years. Guest guest
Yeppers! It's when we finally give in and accept ourselves how we are that the changes start coming through. It's almost impossible to have results when we obsess over a few extra calories or whether we had a good workout or " a workout " for that matter. If we obsess over something, it means we're spending way too much time worrying over something so minute. Like says, " get fit, HAVE FUN, be strong, lose weight. " We can't have the 4th item without the first 3. Guest guest
<<It's hard going to get up sometimes, but honestly it does get easier - I'vegot 2 mornings in this week so far and have to do tomorrow (saturday) tomeet my challenge, but it's easier with not having to rush to go to work soI can enjoy my workout more and relax afterwards - I'm actually likingstarting the weekend like that - it's great me time instead of lost timelazing around.Janick' right about going to bed earlier - that's the bit I'm having realtrouble doing on the nights I go to class - without stopping doing essentialjobs I still can't get done early enoughJillwho will become a morning person..>> I also got 2 morning workouts in this week on wednesday and this morning in addition to 2 afternoon workouts (that makes 4 this week!!!). Actually, I can't even brag about it because both times I dragged myself out of bed at 7 am... before Jordan woke up. I'm lucky, because since wednesday, he's been waking up between 8 and 8:30. However, I have decided this morning that I will take baby steps for waking up early also... 5 minutes earlier everyday instead of one full hour like I want to... Janick who wants to hear about other people's struggle with becoming morning people
Guest guest
Janick Well done - of course you can brag about it, it's an achievement after all, and I'm glad Jordan's 'co-operating' *hehe* I like the 5 minute theory, it'll work out. My alarm was already set early but I just wasn't getting up, I'd even go to the loo and then get back into bed and be late!! So I set it about 15 mins earlier and can now climb into my workout gear after the loo - that makes it impossible to get back in bed - mostly it works esp if my bladder co-operates and I'm working out just after 6am, but other days are hard but I don't feel bad about those days. I'm proud to have done this so far, everything else I achieve re morning workouts is a huge bonus - it can only get better. Jill who not 'snoozing' so much any more > I also got 2 morning workouts in this week on wednesday and this morning in addition to 2 afternoon workouts (that makes 4 this week!!!). Guest guest
You know, I know a lot of people have a harder time doing taebo in the a.m., but that is the only time I think I would actually have the energy to do it and I'm an early riser. I got in morning two this a.m. and I " m pretty ticked at myself for not having done it more since there were three other good days to do it this week!! My thing is I have to get up at 5:00 a.m. to get my work done...I work from home...so I can get it done before my kids wake up. So I usually just throw taebo in with my work in the a.m. as one of the things I MUST get done before they wake up!! I guess my biggest problem is just grabbing food, whatever it is, and eating it because I feel rushed...rather than eating healthy. Hmmm, like my cold pizza I had this a.m. lol I really need to actually plan some quick food so I don't revert to that!!

Of course it wasn't called urban rebounding but for some reason I'm thinking it was popular once. I actually got up at 5 am!! I don't think I'll Tae Bo yet though, as just getting up at this ungodly hour is enough right now, but after I am used to arising so early, I think I will begin to workout. I just got up, so if this doesn't make sense you know why. LOL. But I just thought I'd let you all know!! who can't believe the sun isn't even up yet! >> Just finished my 2nd day of my new morning routine. Got up and did the new Advanced #3. I liked it a lot. Working out early is really a boost for the rest of my day. Beach

Guest guest
I remember those mini-trampolines too. I used it for a short period of time and got bored with it. As it turns out, my little nice and nephews got more use out of it than I did!
