I'll tell them Steve,, I promise.. I just posted an update as I just got off the phone with melissa.. sounds like he is doing better,, and may be moving to Tampa in the next day or so.. thank God he is still hanging in there.. I think that education is the key to getting more donors.. And, even those of us with hep c can be donors to other hep c persons.. I didnt know that until just a few years ago.. Even my liver, with hep c could potentially save another in end stage liver failure.. and my skin, bone, corneas, heart, lungs, pancreas etc,, can all be transplanted into someone who has hep c.. but education is the key.. Most ppl who refuse to allow their loved ones organs to be harvested for transplant truely are refusing out of a state of ignorance.. I say and use the word 'ignorance' in the truest sense of the word, not using it to denigrate anyone.. Its

a lack of understanding that cause ppl to hold on to and bury healthy organs with someone.. WE could truely save so many lives if we could educate others about it...maybe this is the cause we need to take up as a group?anyway, Ill make sure that hears what you just said!hugsjaxJackieSubject: Re: URGENT,, just got a call from Rick's wife (rickkipp)To: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Tuesday, July 29, 2008, 4:34 PM

Jax,

We all hate this disease. Our families hate this disease. Please tell Rick I had two weeks to live when I got my transplant. Nothing is impossible with God. We are praying that they find a liver for him ASAP. You know, you are right. It's bad that someone has to die that we can live. I wanted to know my donor so I could see what kind of person would share life even after theirs was gone. Tell Rick when he reaches the end of the rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.
