I’m

sorry you’re having problems, but at least you still have your sense of

humor! That Phenergan is some good stuff, but it will knock your butt out!

Take it easy & write when you feel like it. Maybe you won’t have to

add the Procrit.

Love

& prayers,

Rough Week

Hi Guys ~~

This has been a rough week for me, so I haven't felt up to

writing responses to any of the emails. I do read them but don't seem to

feel well enough to do what's in my head to write. Maybe next week will

be better.

Had to add another nausea medicine to Zofran...so Hep Doc added

Phenergan. Seems to help but makes me really sleepy...but then if I'm

nauseaous I don't get a lot done anyway. Will just have to see how it

goes. I tried all the remedies suggested before getting the additional

prescription, but my old stand-bys let me down.

Still unsure about Procrit and anemia status. She did

additional blood work today. Since I only have mild disease to liver

(stage 1, grade 2) and my iron stain is normal, she advised iron rich foods

(had added this week) and iron tablets 3 times a day. However, no one

should use iron unless specifically recommended by Hep Doc!!!

Hopefully this will do the trick and we can avert the Procrit usage. I

found out that Procrit is made from Chinese hamster ovaries...sounds lovely

:--))). I also take hormones that are made from horse urine...does this

mean I'm going to turn into some strange combination of animal??

Today they also did viral load test so should know in about a

week or so whether undectable...that's what they are hoping for to do just

the 24 weeks of tx...with a genotype 2 this is very possible.

and Janey...glad you're going to get your tx started...the

sooner started the sooner done.

Blessings,

Hi --soooo sorry you are having such a rough week!! Hey my doc gave me some Phenergan too for the nausea.. If you are taking 25mg..try cutting it in 1/2 it works!! just fine @ 1/2 dosage..Just a suggestion and it doesn't make you as tired especially mixed with our other anti depressant meds. Again, just a suggestion. Sounds like you have a GREAT team of doctors and they are REALLY watching you blood count. You are in my prayers today. Hang in there . Thanks Dorsey for the suggestion...I will give that a try. Zofran is my first go to, but Phenergan will be the back up...I can take both at the same time if need be. I am hopeful that this coming week will be a better week. This week I am trying something new. I did my shot on Wednesday night (last night). I have been doing it on Thursday night and would get sick on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. But, I actually have more time availability to be sick Thursday - Saturday. So, with docs approval giving this a try. I'll let you know how it goes. I do have a great team of docs and they are very thorough and compassionate. Hope you are doing well and that with the nausea under control you're not having too tough of a time. Blessings, DORSEY PETERSON wrote: Hi --soooo sorry you are having such a rough week!! Hi I am sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I am on zofran and it is ok if you catch the nausea before it gets really bad but does not seem to work as well as the phenergan for me. It makes me tired too so I cut the pill in half and only take half then if it is not helping after a while i will taker more. but it works better for me than the zofran. also i have a cup of green tea with ginger in it. Feel better. D" B." wrote: Hi Guys

Hey --got a question for you..I take my shot on Friday--by Wednesday night I can't sleep! I feel like things are crawling all over me! It was that way last wednesday night too. So needless to say I'm tired and nauseated from lack of sleep.. Have you experienced this? Just wondering.. Thanks Dorsey" B." wrote: Thanks Dorsey for the suggestion...I will give that a try. Thanks D. -- I know what you mean about not catching it before it gets really bad! It's like you have to stay ahead of it or it's hard to get it under control. Dorsey ~~ No, I haven't experienced that. I take a sleep med, Ambien and have for a long time as I have suffered from insomnia for years. I do know that if I don't sleep that things can get really weird for me. Insomnia is a common side effect of the tx, so if it continues you might talk to tx doc or psych doc about getting some help with that. Maybe they can give you something that you don't have to take everyday, just when you have a night where you're not able to go to sleep right away. Keep us posted on how it goes.
