Guest guest
, Lynn, my friend in Quitman is coming here on Tuesady for a visit. When I see her I will let her know that I am going to give you her email and phone. Just want to let her know before I do. I will also give her you email address if that is ok with you. I live in Encino, very close to Van Nuys... I remember when there still were orange groves all around here. Time do fly!Suzi Q wrote: Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome. Let's see, Steph--I looked up Quitman and it is on my way to Shreveport where I hope to move when I get my act together. Quitman is in the beautiful piney woods about 150 miles northeast of where I live now. I do go near every month or so as my daughter is already in Shreveport. I bought us each a place there with my Calif house proceeds---just haven't moved. If you want to email me direct her phone number or email, I'll let her know next time I head that way. I hope to make a trip soon as there is a great blueberry farm just off the highway north of Tyler and June is the season. Also, I am in an HMO in Shreveport, so my medical is based there. Debbie--yes I know SF valley well. My mom taught at Poly for years. I attended Van Nuys High in would you believe 1946? My first waitress job was at Bob's Big Boy in San while they still had carhops. I was a navy wife at Port Hueneme and moved back to the Valley when my husband was sent overseas. Don't forget to take B100 with that Berkson regime and a multi vitamin. Smalk just posted all his supplements recently and uses Berkson too. And Jackie, my prayers and thoughts have been with you. Glad your daughter is home. And Sheena--you are a doll !!! So, one day when I get settled, I will find out how my liver is doing. Doctors just keep saying my enzymes are slightly elevated. I will never forget when I was diagnosed by Kaiser in Calif. the doctor barely spoke English and when I asked what that meant---he said "It mean you have". Guest guest
When we moved from Encino and move to the Los Feliz area I went to High School at Jon Marshal. We used to cruse Bob's also. in fact I think we gor 86'd for some reason, but we went anyway! Those were fun days.... My grand parents had an Italian bakey and restaurant called Sarnos on Vermont in those day and many of the kids would go there to get an eclair or cream puff..yum...Those days are gone!Debbie wrote: My sis went to Cleveland High. And I remember hanging out at Bob's with her when she had to babysit me. CruisinTake careHeck I want to move too. Everyone's moving -but where would I go. Guest guest
I had Kaiser back in the 80's, wasn't impressed, have only been back with them for a little over a week, so we shall see. One visit is not going to tell it, but I was at least pleased with the first.. We were with a really bad Medical Group for too many years, it was a God send to be able to get out from under them. For anyone struggling there is always hope, i cant come at the strangest times.. Have a good Sunday! Sheena ... Subject: Re: Meet and GreetTo: Hepatitis_C_Central Date: Sunday, June 22, 2008, 7:45 AM Sheena, didn't know you got Kaiser. I had them for years, off and on from 1956 to 1999. I generally got very good treatment. It was just that this doctor who called me with the results was not my doctor and his English was very poor. They are the ones who gave me all my tests and found my Hep C. They also said I had fibro and some other things. At the time, mom was still alive and in bad shape and we had moved to Bullhead, so I didn't follow thru. A couple years later I had my biopsy In Palm Springs, but didn't have Kaiser. I was on a Medicare HMO by then--they watch their money more than Kaiser. I always found Kaiser very willing to test until they found the answer. And since the docs were all in one facility, the communication between them was good and all records in one place. I have not found any medical care here that compares with the care I got in Calif. Steph and Debbie--You bring back many good memories. Had my drivers license in 1949--at age 14 and I drove all over. Took my brother down to summer school near Marshall and then on to Hollywood High for a summer class. I've been to Sarno's It was very well known. It was so different back then. Look forward to hearing from you andyour friend. Quinn In the swamp in secluded recesses, a shy and hidden bird is warbling a song.
