I have sure found that to be true, recently started back with walking

and could only last 10 minutes, but within a month I was up to 40.

It's best to start slow..

[Hepatitis_C_ Central] my daughter had emergency surgery last nite

Guys, Im gonna be in and out over the next couple of days,, my daughter hademergency surgery last nite after we had to take her back to the ERfor more abdominal pain.. The previous admit which was 2 weeks ago,she was diagnosed with an abscess in her pelvis and admitted to thefloor for 4 days. The doc who took over after she went to the floordecided that it was not an abscess but couldnt tell us what it was,,and told my daughter to come in this week to his office for anotherultrasound.. .. well she called last week and was told he was onvacation, which we knew but his office refused to make an appt for herand told her to call back this week, so she did and he was STILL onvacation,, and they told her to call back NEXT week... well yesterdayall of a sudden, it all came back, the pain, the sickness and we wentback to the hosp and another gyn doc looked at her and admitted herand took her to surgery

to clean out the abscess that the other docsaid was not there!!!! Amazing how he kept her on antibiotics by IVfor 4 days, then sent her home with another weeks worth of antibioticsby mouth... guess his vacation was more important and you all can betthat he IS going to hear from me soon! My daughter could have beenleft infertile or she could have died... she was very very sick lastnite and I was very afraid for her..She is much better tonite so hopefully this new doc has fixed theproblem,, but Ill be in and out for the next couple of days,, so justwanted to let ya all know and to ask for prayers, good thoughts, positive karma whatever you believe in for my daughter! I love her so!

Have to laugh since I recently bought one

of those small steppers. I used to be in great shape before the

peripheral neuropathy, etc., but it all went downhill 2 ½ years ago and

with the HCV tx, well………….

Anyway, the first day on the stepper, I

did 2 minutes. I managed to do 6 minutes the other day and it said I

burned SIXTY calories!! SAY WHAT??????

I busted my butt for SIXTY calories???

But it’s the truth…….and

a slow start is better than no start.

A stepper, you say, WOW, Dorothy, I am impressed,

those can be tough..

They say walking at a brisk pace the best exercise

for the elderly, I am practicing. ;-)

Actually, I was in very good shape prior

to getting ill. I was trying to keep all the pieces of my 50-something

body together. I’ve put on about 15 pounds++ I stopped exercising

regularly and I’ve been trying to lose about 10 of them. I was too

thin before anyway and I’ll just be glad to be able to fit into all my

clothes so I don’t have to buy new BIGGER ones!! LOL

Plus it’s only 4 more years now till

the big SIX-OH and that kind of terrifies me!

I bought a Pilates machine in January and

that is by far, the best investment I’ve made. It has helped my leg

so much and allowed me to slowly move back into exercise. It has a cardio

rebounder attachment, but I rarely use it. I prefer doing some “light”

cardio DVD’s that I have. Kathy is great and her DVD “Moving

Through Menopause” is

excellent. I recommend it and perhaps your local library has it to borrow

to try. I do the cardio and the strength portions.

This new stepper is my second attempt at

steppers. I had one years ago and my husband used it when he didn’t

go to the gym (he was into body building.) He used to sweat so much that

it actually started to rust…….funny, it never happened when I used

it!! This new stepper is just the bottom with the 2 peddles, but does

have arm cords to use for stability and they provide additional strength

exercise. I really like it and hope that I can break that 6 minute mark

soon J

for the small stepper

I bought both the stepper and Aero Pilates

machine at QVC for very good prices. I’m the “Queen of QVC”

You’re right – walking is

terrific exercise for any age. Sansone has some DVDs for walking

at home (in place) that I hear are very good in case you’re interested.

Well…..maybe I’ll get on that

stepper now. I just had a nice piece of Entenman’s Filled Chocolate

Chip Cake J

5O something, that explains it, you're still just a youngster,
