Guest guest
Hi Gang, Wouldn't it be great if good habits were as easy to acquire as bad habits seem to be? Well, being aware of what we are doing certainly does make it easier to change things. It's amazing to me how much of our lives we seem to " sleepwalk " through! Once I realized that my biggest obstacle was just in the evening hours, I started thinking about what I could change. Because my husband is gone so much, when he is home, we tend to veg out in front of the tv in the evening. So, when he is gone, I've been doing the same thing. And THAT is the time I am shoving food in my mouth when I am not really hungry. So last evening, when this all occured to me, I got off the couch and went to the quilt I've been working on. Instead of eating to fill up the time and my loneliness, I got my mind (and body) occupied elsewhere! Before I knew it, it was close to bedtime, and I had not eaten all evening! YAY!!! My dream self: I'm so busy doing things that I enjoy every day, that I don't eat out of boredom anymore. If I start to feel myself numbing, I get out and go for a walk, go visit a friend, or get into my crafts. Why waste time just trying to fill time? And I am so much happier at the end of each day, knowing that I've savored it all, and didn't waste the time I was given. Have a wonderful day, and I'm so looking forward to the next episode. In the meantime, I'll start listening to the previous ones again, like Randy suggested. That was a great idea!
