You will need to ask the lab that did the testing if they have normal values by age. Most do not. Renin and aldo tend to go down with age.You could google What is normal for renin and aldo in children? Let us know what you find. Why is he on K?It would appear that his numbers are "normal" but the Aldo of 13 would seem to be high if their normal is ≤ 9. Need to get clarification from the lab. CE Grim. Could you tell me if there is a aldo:renin ratio normal for pediatric patients? My son's labs were: Renin 2.29 (.25-5.82) Aldosterone 13 (< or = to 9) Ratio: 5.7 (.9-28.9) He is a small 9 year old. There were no references to position in the normals. In my literature search, I was unable to located pediatric normals for the ratio. I could only find that those peds patients with hypertension had higher ratios than those without hypertension. He was not on any meds other than potassium chloride and Vyvanse. Thanks, Cindi
